The return of the love wagon (Part 7)

Finally, after how many months the body is finally seeing paint. At this point the wagon has been in the shop for over eight months. These photos are dated August 2009. Imagine my relief when I walked into the shop and saw this:

Looks yummy, yes? I hope this primer holds up.

Looks yummy, yes? I hope this primer holds up.

At this point I was so glad to finally see more progress, but as you can see, there is still a very long way to go. As good as this looks, there are some major issues that weren’t addressed such as the fit of the doors and the weather seals. I should have known this and there is no excuse for my ignorance. At least I can share with you my experiences so that you don’t end up making the same mistakes I did. Needless to say, some of the paint has to be repeated because of this oversight. Am I pissed off? Well…

Anyway, here are more photos. If only my future self was able to send myself a warning I would have fitted the weather seals first before commencing paint. Too late for that at this point.

I know that my blog posts are full of complaints, but I suppose that is the nature of car restoration. I would love to hear feedback from restorers who had no headaches whatsoever. Anybody? Hehe. More posts coming soon. In no time you guys will see what the wagon looks like in real time. Thank you for posting comments and sharing advice. I really do appreciate hearing from all of you. It gives me the boost that I need to get this job finished. Wish me luck.
