Raining cats, dogs, and car parts!

The old-school swap meet at Ortigas Home Depot last July 26 was something I’ve been looking forward to because I missed the first one. In fact, I rushed down from Baguio and went straight to the meet as soon as I arrived in Manila. There are a few key pieces that I still need for the wagon.

This is what greeted me when I arrived at the venue.

Intake manifolds were plenty

Hmm, I think I see performance camshaft or two in there.

In true guerilla fashion, parts were on display on the sidewalk behind the Home Depot building. Looks yummy, doesn’t it? Unfortunately majority of the parts were for older Toyotas. Damn! There were a few parts for older Mitsubishis, like steering wheels and dash pads. I even spotted my “horse” front emblem in this pile. Can you see it?

What a stash!

But even if I didn’t find what I was looking for, I managed to meet a few suppliers. Let’s see if I can get the prices for what I need down.

Nice!

Nice!

The guys were friendly, and it was obvious that the old-school community is growing, fast. Maybe next time the Ortigas Home Depot fellas should provide a bigger venue, and perhaps provisions for when it rains. Regardless, this swap meet was still a trip. I’m looking forward to the next one! Again, thanks for the invite, OSP!
