Car Comparison / Re: 86 or honda city 1.8
« on: August 23, 2012, 05:40:57 pm »
I think Civic talaga dapat ilalagay niya pero medyo wierd lang talaga yun question which to pick. Price wise, may premium pa din ang 86 sa Civic. So kung daily driver lang naman ito, e di simple answer is Civic.

Ewan ko lang bakit niya naisip i-mention pa yung 86? Is it to get views or what so post niya but hey to each his own.

The 86 is good on its own for exclusivity and the premium is for its driver oriented capabilities. If you have no plans of bringing it to the track or to mountain roads at speed, then be practical na lang.

That's my two cents.

agree.. kung everyday drive lang dun ka na sa practical at di pansinin

I don't think Subaru BRZ will fit the rally stages well. hatchbacks and sedan lang ang pwede sa WRC and not those coupes.

it might work if WRC will return to the 90s regulations when Toyota was using Celicas... But today's WRC are really based on hatchbacks and sedans for P-WRC

zie bart is known for good undercoats pero maski sa shell service bays sa gas stations meron din, usually undercoats are not needed to reapply for newer cars due to their good coating pwera nalang siguro if you frequent rough roads or floods

maraming salamat sir buti na lang di ko pa naman pala need magpa under coat since within Alabang to Muntinlupa area lang ako nag ddrive and so far no flood or rough terrain pa ako nadaanan  :) :)

Chequered Flag / Audi & Ferrari Emerge as Victors in Le Mans
« on: June 18, 2012, 07:03:52 am »
I think its the Nth time Audi won a Le Mans stage of FIA-WEC... Anyways congratulations to them even though I'm not a big fan of them, it just shows how quickly they adapted to the rules and did a solid job. Also AF Corsa Ferrari also won defeating the Corvettes, big congratulations to them; Ferrari fans around the world celebrated including me.  ;D ;D

« on: June 17, 2012, 10:45:34 am »
I really dont know if meron na thread nito, pero I just want to learn on  how can we verify when a car needs a new layer of rustproofing espescially underneath the chassis? And how much it will cost the owner if his car needs one? Pasensya na po if the terms is a bit misleading newbie pa kasi but your inputs are very much welcome.

TIA  :)

Whatever happened to F1 drivers after their F1 careers are over, well here's the list

1.) Ralf Schumacher - the younger brother of 7x title holder Michael and drove to Jordan, Williams and Toyota is currently driving for a Mercedes team in DTM series in Germany.

2.) Rubens Barichello - after driving for Jordan, Stewart, Ferrari,Honda & Brawn winning GPs and replaced by Bruno Senna in Williams F1, left without a drive in Formula 1, he went racing in ovals in Indy

3.) Giancarlo Fisichella - the former Benetton, Jordan, Sauber, Renault, Force India and Ferrari (substitute for Felipe Massa) won a handful of races in his career but after his short stint with Ferrari he became their reserve driver, he raced for AF Corsa-Ferrari in Le Mans Series and became champion a year or 2 later.

3.) Keke Rosberg - the 1982 world champ with Williams and the father of Nico Rosberg, was able to race in the DTM series in the 90s and managed Mika Hakkinnen and his son Nico.

4.) Jean Alesi - raced for Ferrari, Jordan & Sauber won a single GP with Ferrari.  Raced with Mercedes in the DTM series after his career in F1 was over. Reunited with Ferrari in Le Mans Series a year ago and now races on the Indy series and earned the oldest rookie to race.

5.) Gerhard Bergher - the famous team mate of late great Ayrton Senna was proud to say he made the former champion laugh. He was a 10 time GP winner with Benetton, Ferrari & Mclaren. After his career was over in 1997 he became a sporting director on BMW and later on bought 50% of Scuderia Torro Rosso in 2006 but after he realized that Red Bull has no plan for the Faenza squad to become winners mr. Bergher sold his share.

6.) Gianmarina Bruni - yeah he raced with Minardi (the current Scuderia Torro Rosso) he raced for Ferrari in Le Mans Series and became a champ there.

7.) Alexander Wurz - Raced for Benetton, Williams and Test Driver for Mclaren came back to Le Mans Series to race for Peugeot after leaving Williams, and soon gave Audis run for their money as he won Le Mans alongside other former F1 drivers Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Bourdais, & Stephane Sarazzin. He is currently racing with Toyota on Le Mans

8.) David Coulthard - He drove for great teams like Williams, Mclaren & Red Bull, after his career in F1 he drove again in DTM and become an F1 commentator

9.) Takuma Sato - the former Jordan, BAR, Honda and Super Aguri driver went to Indy

10.) Marc Gene - used to drive for Minardi and became substitute to Ralf Schumi in Williams went to Ferrari to become their test driver after his career never took off.

11.) Justin Wilson - drove for Jaguar went to Champcar then Indy and became a winner

12.) Jackie Stewart - the 3 time champion set up his own team Steward Ford which became Jaguar and then Red Bull

13.) Nicky Lauda - after becoming a 3 time champ with his stints on Ferrari, Brabham & Mclaren, he set up his own airline company

14.) Kazuki Nakajima - well after Toyota left F1 and never renewed their engine supply on Williams he was left without a drive and as of this writing he is competing in Le Mans for Toyota

15.) Tiff Needel - yeah the former host of Top Gear in UK, drove a single race in F1 during the 80s for the team called Ensign, after that he raced in British Touring Car Championship and had a good career in broadcasting for Top Gear UK later on in 5th Gear (ooppps)

@red mosquito

Good reviews for both city and vios. Are those applicable to their 1.3 variants?

Thanks!

well if option mo po is 1.3 100% I go for City, kasi the way it looks parang wala sya sa mid variant the wheels looks good because of the star design compare sa Vios na di ko pa alam ang tawag.. Engine power is better than Vios, interior of 1.3 City is almost the same sa 1.5S...City is Fuel efficient.. Casa maintenance is more expensive than Vios by more or less 1k.. In the end mas nagagandahan talaga ako sa 1.3 City compare sa Vios 1.3 hehehe just because of the looks, engine power and its fuel efficieny ;D ;D ;D ;D hope it helps

Since Subaru left WRC, I think there are only Ford and Citroen left to compete to each other. Pa- update naman. Ang alam ko lang eh yung Volkswagen and Hyundai to join WRC.

Na-missed mo po ung Mini  ;) sila un 3rd team entered by Prodrive (the guys who gave Impreza WRC). Volkswagen has a team sa S-WRC which I think a different league from the main WRC or a feeder series to WRC but they (VW) will properly enter a WRC platform car I think next year, but currently they are using a sister company's Skoda Fabia S2000 rally car. Hyundai used to participate to WRC using European Spec of Accent way back early 2000.

im a big Toyota and Honda fan... so either City or Vios is highly recommended for me... theres a bit pros & cons

if you will go for City its very stylish, powerful & reliable but based on what I heard from my friends it has a very expensive periodic maintenance

if you will go for vios the style is very common in the streets, reliable and has a cheap periodic maintenance.

common thing on City & Vios they are not gas guzzler, and current generations have lots of chrome parts which I dont like
