Power will come from a 90 horsepower 1.4 or 130 horsepower 1.6-liter diesel or a 1.6-liter gas engine making 140 horsepower. Buyers will get to pick between a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.

There are still no plans to bring it to the U.S., however.

Toyota Ukraine reveals new Camry for other parts of the world

Quote
Toyota Ukraine has released the skinny on what some other parts of the world can expect to see from the 2012 Toyota Camry. It's impossible for us to say who, besides Russia, will be getting this Camry variant, but we do clearly spot a front fascia that's a good bit different than what's available here in the land of the free. The lower air intake boasts a slimmer profile for less of an open-jaw look. Likewise, the rear valance has gone under the knife with additional detailing that abandons the rounded profile of the American car.

The final package may be a bit more refined in style, though mechanically the two sedans remain more or less identical. Buyers in the old country can lay their hands on the same engine options as their American counterparts. Those include a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder good for 18 horsepower and a 3.5-liter V6 with a snappy 268 horsepower. Toyota calls the vehicle a "business sedan," and according to our Google translator, prices start at $33,050.

More extreme than the M-Sport package?

The 1-series Performance Studie

First Photos Leaked: BMW F20 1-series Performance Concept

Some days ago, we brought you spyshots of a special F20 1-series. With some help from our resident insider Scott26 we could identify that car as a BMW Performance 1-series.

Today, we're happy to share the first photos of the final car, the "BMW Performance Studie 1-series". BMW apparently showed this car during their dealer presentation taking place in Frankfurt, and three shots magically made it to our inbox. You can see the Performance front and rear bumpers which appear to be even more aggressively styled than the F20 M-Sport front bumper. Also present are the 'love em or hate em' performance stripes and a new Performance wheel in what looks like 19" size. We wouldn't be suprised if this car also had some kind of factory engine tuning or performance enhancements.

BMW will likely release more (and official) information on this car soon, maybe even before or during the Frankfurt IAA next month. Enjoy these first looks in the meantime. Thanks for the pics K!

Asian Originals / 2013 Kia Forte
« on: August 18, 2011, 10:29:36 am »
Is this Kia showing Honda how the new 2012 Civic should have looked like?  ;D

Quote
After only two years on the market, the Kia Forte is being fully redesigned, set to debut in 2013.

The new sedan was designed in Irvine and will retain the same 178.3-inch *length* as the current car, but will ride on a wheelbase some 2-inches longer at 106.3 inches. If that number sounds familiar, and it should, it's because that is exactly the same as the current Elantra. Kia has confirmed that this Forte shares a platform with the new Elantra while the old Forte rides on last-gen Elantra.

The new Forte gets a lower cD and a hood "with four pronounced contours -- they're sort of like pleats and kind of weird looking. No fake hood vents despite camo's suggestion of that." says our man on the scene. The lights, too, are apparently slightly odd, featuring a "little panhandle" where the light meets the grille. We've provided a highly detailed sketch after the jump to illustrate that. HID headlights (low beams) will be standard with LED head / tail lights optional.

Kia has also taken steps here to differentiate the models. The Koup's front fascia gets a much smaller slit for a grille that apparently works very well. While the Five-door "looks pretty awesome" with taillights "shaped like those on Audi A4 wagon/ Q5 and the same character line running between them -- thank you, Peter Schreyer." The Five-door and the Koup have dual exhaust as well and the Five-door gets a roof-mounted rear spoiler.

Two styles of 18-inch wheels will be offered.

European Elegance / All-new Porsche 911 (991) *official photos*
« on: August 18, 2011, 06:55:32 am »

Quote
Here it is, folks: the all-new 991 Porsche 911. Like nearly every 911 that came before it, the iconic coupe's design has not changed too much, keeping the line's classic styling and proportions intact. Aside from some new LED running lamps and revised air intakes up front and some thinner taillights out back, the 2012 model is extremely similar to the 997 911 currently out on the road.

The big changes, though, are more than skin-deep. The car is about two inches longer than the current 911, and features revised six-cylinder engines. The base Carrera now uses a 3.4-liter direct-injected flat-six, producing 350 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while the Carrera S will use a direct-injected 3.8-liter unit, delivering 400 hp. Both engines will be mated to a seven-speed manual (yes, we said it) or PDK dual-clutch transmission, either of which can be had with launch control.

Inside, the 911's cabin uses a design borrowed from the Panamera, with a more pronounced, downward-sloping center console. Like the exterior, nothing radical has been done to the car's innards, and that's just fine with us.

We'll have the official details in the coming weeks in anticipation of the new 911's official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Hilux 2012, new design and more power

The renowned Toyota Hilux continues to dominate European pick-up sales. Vehicle sales totalled 21,866 in 2010, representing almost 25% of the market share. This makes the Toyota pick-up the segment sales leader for the third consecutive year.

With the launch of the Hilux 2012, Toyota introduces a new design and further improves the model's renowned quality, durability and reliability.

The Hilux 2012's new interior has been extensively revised with a refined design which reinforces the pick-up's credentials as a leisure vehicle. It offers improved sensory quality throughout the cabin, and passenger car levels of convenience.

The interior features a new upper dashboard design in which a new, horizontal centre instrument cluster reinforces the breadth and roominess of the cabin. It incorporates Toyota Touch, a 6.1", full colour, touch screen multimedia unit.

Perceived quality has been significantly improved through the adoption of uniformly darker finishes with a greater colour consistency throughout the interior, and the addition of silver ornamentation.

The front of the Hilux 2012 is entirely redesigned from the A pillar forwards, with a new bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps and front bumper. The vehicle profile is further enhanced by newly designed front and rear wings, redesigned 15" and 17" steel and alloy wheels, and new door mirrors.

In order to create a stronger differentiation between 'workhorse', 'dual usage' and 'leisure' versions, the Hilux 2012 is now available in four grades: DLX, the new DLX+, SR and SR+.

Fulfilling a 'workhorse'/'dual usage' role, the brand new DLX+ grade is available with 2WD or 4WD 2.5 D-4D powertrains mated to a manual transmission in Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab body styles, and with a 4WD 3.0 D-4D powertrain and manual transmission as a Double Cab only.

With a choice of three body types, two engines, manual and automatic transmission and two- or four-wheel drive, Europe's pick-up of choice now satisfies the requirements of an even wider professional and leisure customer base.

Through the introduction of variable nozzle turbocharging, Hilux 2012 2WD 2.5 D-4D models benefit from a 24 hp increase in power. The engine now develops 144 hp at 3600 rpm and 343 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.

Despite this power increase, combined cycle fuel consumption has been reduced by 1.0 l/100 km to 7.3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions lowered by 26 g/km to only 193 g/km.

In addition, Hilux 2012 2WD versions are now equipped with the more robust chassis design of 4WD models. This not only improves vehicle ground clearance, but also increases the two-wheel drive models' towing capacity to 2.5 tons.

Thanks to the adoption of a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) both 2.5 D-4D and 3.0 D-4D engines are now EURO V compliant.

Produced at Toyota Motor Thailand and Toyota South Africa Motors, the Hilux 2012 will be available in 36 European countries, and more than 135 throughout the world.

With anticipated European sales of almost 26,000 units in 2011, the Toyota Hilux success story is set to continue.

Toyota has released the first teaser video for the 2012 Camry.

While there isn't much to see, Toyota president and CEO Akio Toyoda says the model is the "best Camry ever" and will "exceed your expectations." He also promised the Camry will be a "remarkable car in terms of handling, safety and fuel economy."

Additional information is limited, but the redesigned Camry will be available this fall.

the Ford fiesta ST Ecoboost looks like a ford tempo from 1993.

I really don't see any resemblance at all aside from the blue oval Ford badge.

Well, that's it, that's the next-generation BMW 1 Series hatchback we probably (definitely) won't get. It's a shame, too, because this new 1 Series is more in line with U.S. tastes than before, at least by a little. The new car is 3.3 inches longer, .7 inches wider and has a 1.2 inch longer wheelbase which translates to more rear leg room and trunk capacity. Track is up 2 inches in front and 2.8 inches in the back.

For Europe, engine options will be a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine we've seen in Mini vehicles-- though modified to fit longitudinally-- and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder common rail diesel. Horsepower figures stretch from 136 in a 116i to 184 in the 120d. The 120d is the performer of the group hitting 62 in a BMW claimed 7.2 seconds with a top speed of 142 mph. The 116d is the fuel miser of the group returning 54.7 MPG combined.

The standard transmission is a six-speed manual while an eight-speed automatic will be optional. DCT is rumored to be offered later in the model's lifecycle.

The 1 Series also gets interior adjustments inspired by the look and quality of the 3 series.

wonder why the foglamps differ from the whiteinnova to black innova
The one in the grainy pic might be Photoshop edited.
Even the headlights look different, and the grill is smaller compared to the white one's.
Anyway lets wait and see.
