The ride is actually better than the Ranger or Hilux, and the transmission is okay compared to the rather balky trannies in the Japanese/American trucks.

The only worry is the durability of the interior, since most of the mechanicals are outsourced to topnotch third-party suppliers.

thanks for the link sir. as far as i know, there are safety  features of honda city that was used during that test that is not available in our current honda city that is being sold here in the philippines. the reason why honda phils is upgrading their models-- i mean they now added those safety features that is lacking in our honda citys here. the result, naka 25k discount ngayon para ma ubos na yung model na walang ganung features at para ma replace na ng new model.. sa 1.5 lang naman may added safety features while sa 1.3 yung rims lang nag bago... same exterior. as is parin lahat.

i really appreciate your link sir. thanks. baka makapag pa reserve na kami tomorrow. still crossing my fingers for that..

When a car has no stability control, it gets a maximum of four stars on NCAP, no matter how safe it is. What matters is the City's body shell gives it five-star crash safety, whether or not the variant gets stability control...  which doesn't matter as much on a low-slung sedan as it does on a crossover or SUV. NCAP strikes off the fifth star for lack of stability control because it helps prevent rollovers. But if you don't drive like an idiot, you won't roll over.

totoo po ba na hindi VGT ang glx version ng strada?  ???

Mabagal? Dude, the non-VGT 4D56 can easily overtake vehicles in highways, tested and proven na ng isa kong relative na nka-Montero Sport GLX. Yep, d nka-VGT ang manual GLX pero it doesn't mean na mabagal ang non-VGT 2.5L ng Strada, decent power that can be sa speed demon when you throttle it to the max...

If resale value is a must, the Fortuner and Montero Sport has the edge. Yes the Trailblazer is well-equipped but it will surely have a low resale value since the looks aren't that modern that some people even find the style outdated specifically the front...

That's what I'm talking about.. And so our choice boils down to D-max or Hilux.. Either hilux J or Hilux E.. Is the 100k difference worth it? I guess even the J variant has a bed liner..

Thank you for your inputs.. 😄

D-Max LX, the LT has a lower ride height compared to the LX's... You may wanna consider the Strada GL 2WD, only P10k more than the current D-Max LT but it already sports power windows, cental locking and a tall ride height that's same w/ the top-spec GLS Sport-V's height... You also may wanna consider its 4WD counterpart, the Strada GLX 4WD, also has power windows, central locking, tall ride height and Mitsubishi's Super Select 4WD II for only P1,070M ;)

Some of the negative comments I heard are the not-so precise manual transmission and hard ride. Other than that, mostly positive
