I wonder why you're the only one in this forum who made it too obvious of being a die-hard Strada promoter?  Hmmm?  And, Suzuki Swift for your wife?  Geez, not only you are disoriented, you're pretty cheap too!  Can't you ever talk about real cars for a change?  Underestimating a man under a mango tree?... didn't I just tell you that I'm having fun!

I find this thread all about bashing the posters and not the car.  Everyone has their own opinions in which car to buy.  But we all know prior to purchasing one, we have to think about our lifestyle and whether this vehicle we are about to purchase will meet or live up to our expectations.

The Strada is a lifestyle truck.  Not meant to be the best in off-road, nor be the great hauler of things, nor be elegant as Miss Universe.  If you want an off-road capable truck, I guess the Dmax or ford ranger will be the best.  If you want best ride, then choose the Strada.  If you want the powerful truck, go with Navara with higher torque.

Needless to say, the Strada combines all that is needed for a lifestyle truck.
1.   You can drive comfortably to work if you are living in the city.
2.   For fun, take it up to a nearby mountain, ridge, and do some off-road fun.
3.   Pulling capacity, tug around your boat (kayang kaya ninya).
4.   Four hauling stuff, go ahead, load it up in the bed (although it has one of the smallest bed space available)

Now let’s talk about safety, from all the pickup NCAP tested, Strada got the highest rating.  It’s an independent body that is credible.

Reliability, the engine used here 4d56 has been around for years, it has been proven a reliable engine that would last for a long long time.  Hook it up with a good turbo, and viola, you got a powerful truck that can do 160km easily and if the road is clear, go on and go up higher.  And that’s only the 2.5 Liter 136 hp engine, what more if you got the 3.2 version.

Ur right av8or5, its bashing the poster(person) not the car. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, obersvations and critics. Coz we are a free country.
We should refrain from insults and putting down a person. There is always a better way to say things....

I did... and as a contract worker just like you, I studied all my options pretty well thru reviews and discussions with people who use them, especially for business and not just for fun ride.  As a businessman. besides being a contract worker,  I had to see the overall picture of a pick-up's performance, not just the feel of it during it's first test drive, but also how it would become 5 or 10 years after the purchase.  After doing that, my list narrowed down to 2 models, the 3.0 L Isuzu D-Max and the 3.0 L Ford Ranger.  Where I work here in Africa, the company recently discontinued the purchase of L200 Strada's against the Ford Rangers.  After so many complaints from users from different departments, the company decided to discontinue the purchase of L200's and revert back to the Ford Rangers, which had been performing well for all these departments for so many years.  The D-max performed pretty well in South Africa and Namibia gainst the Navarra and the less impressive Strada.  It did the same in Thailand and in some parts of Europe.  I bought my D-max LS due to it's expected long-term performance and reliability, which, so far, is something that I never heard about from any businessman regarding the Strada.

Depending on what you expect from your pick-up, as a businessman, only the Isuzu D-max and the Ford Ranger have a greater promise of long-term performance and reliability.  And if you read the more important articles about pick-ups in the same class, there was no way that the Strada ever beat the Navarra in whatever performance and reliability aspect you could relate to.  How do you expect the Strada to perform better than either the Ranger of the D-max if it already looked like a helpless baby in front of the Navarra?

you mean reliability record?long-term usage?in our country?....

it's for you to find out......in our streets how many previous generations L200 are still roving the streets?compared to the isuZu fuego(dmax predecessor)....

in their modern iterations the Strada is now going upmarket-as a lifestyle truck while the Dmax is marketed as a workhorse so it's definitely an indirect competition!...on performance you pointed out that the dmax is better off road..yes it is but the strada can handle rough stuff also....in a different way....mitsu's crdi is quiter too

Right you are janjalaniv, that promdi under that mango tree ought to understand that.  He also needs to understand how this whole thing started... check out his first 2 postings... and thinks he's got more wisdom than GOD.  He ougt to learn how to straighten up his grammar before raising arguments about motor vehicles.  I could already see the root source of his generic yet unimpressive wisdom and kind.

wow all the opinions are great. i own a 3.2 strada, no problems as of now,

the best pick is on the eye of the beholder heheh meaning it depends on your lifestlye.

if you are living in the forest dont buy strada (para di magasgas heheeh, ganda kc porma) but instead buy the ranger, dmax (mga pambundok dapat) that's it, dont fight in this forum guys, respect others opinion.

Hilux ? um wag na yan ayoko ng Hilux khit indestructabblle. its not true  ;D

This might apply on the old hi-lux, but the newer hi-lux from 04-present, are no longer that reliable, Innovas, Hi-lux and Fortuner which were all made in Thailand aren't safe enough, just try knocking at the body panels, you will hear a "lata" sound.. Like it's made out of tin can or something, I also own an Innova by the way..

TOP GEAR called the HI-LUX as INVINCIBLE,  as they drove it to snowy Arctic?
That's Toyota last stand on its ads for the faulty Hi-Lux.
Anyway, all these trucks are capable of OFF ROAD driving, it's your choice..
See the C mag. comparo of these trucks..
