hey guys just got an old toyota corona '76 model. it was passed on to me by my dad. dunno if should I restore or not. it was restored before but not entirely restored (as in pang show room). don't have an A/C anymore but the body was fixed to metal already. unfortunately, a few years back the paint had some bubble and now showing some parts of the body flaking off. I really want to restore it because the engine is still in tack. in fact that car was able to brought me to places already like olonggapo and pampangga (just months ago). last week just drove it down to pansol and I was suprised with the good performance still. I am planning to modify it looking vintage from the outside but very modern in the inside. this January, i am planning to put it on a full body repair, dashboard restoration, insulator, stereo, new driver's seat, A/C installation. also planning to have it painted with either glossy black or royal blue. I wanna know if the plan will cost me more than 50,000. because i am not that wealthy enough to drop more than that budget. any thoughts guys?

firstly let me welcome you here at tgp forum....

as to your inquiry; you should ask yourself if how much commitment you can give if you start the restoration process. LET ME TELL YOU that RESTORATION TAKES NOT ONLY SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF MONEY but SIGNIFICANT TIME AS WELL. you ought to be very selective as to where shop the restoration will take place. AS THERE'S NOTHING more painful than to see a wishy washy kind of work. you need to likewise know the history of your corona, it's the story of the car that gives old school rides that breath of HERITAGE. COMMITMENT IS THE KEY , if you decide to start the whole restoration process then expect some SNAG ALONG THE WAY. but once your done i'm telling you the fulfillment is priceless.

there's a DEDICATED SEGMENT for old steed check out RUST AND PIECES by paulo subido, you can take cues on HOW DO GO ABOUT IT.
