ms confuse firstly are you single???? hehehehe joke lang

ok let me navigate you to a few things i know about your inquiry... firstly by your enumerated choices it looks like your eyeing for a brand new ride SUV in character. it amazes me how strong your predilection being a first timer in owning a car. most of the time suggestion will be thrown your way like this " go and get a pre-owned vehicle if your a first timer so as to learn how to care for your ride" . but then again perhaps you have been driving quite sometime already that your" CAR-TEGORY"( HEHEHE comely aphorism) is somewhat choices for drivers with at least average driving maneuverability.
as far as your elected vehicle what can i say:

1. rav 4- toyota has been a household name . expect durability of their product and dependability. however toyota is lagging behind as far as technological advancement is concerned. this is primarily due to the reason that toyota's market is concentrated on the majority of the middle class ( medium to high income earners). the snag in choosing this unit is that i find the price expensive to what you get from a rav 4 . in the automotive industry it is no longer enough to be durable or dependable. lots OF THE asking are thrown on the design, the toys, and of course performance. and because the rav4 offers only GAS ENGINE it is not suitable enough to be a SUV  THAT WILL carry you for long trips unless money to you is not an object. MY STRONG SUGGESTION IS' FOR SUV OPT for diesel engine.

2. sta fe; if you have been reading previous topics and threads regarding this particular unit you would perhaps say this is the MOST CONTROVERSIAL OR TALKED ABOUT IN TGP WORLD heheheh. i will tell you few of the reasons why. firstly it is HYUNDAI therefore Korean of origin. the Koreans have been proving their worth in the world of technology. firstly they we're the first to comE out with LED besting the Nippon in electronics. and NOW look at the spec sheet of the STA FE ; the 4x2 reVGT DELIVERS 194 HORSES making it the fastest SUV FROM from your choice, the rav4 has only about 168 horses available for disposal therefore it's faster to move from point a to point be in a STA FE vs rav4. and because the rav 4 is of gas the torque is only about 224 nm ( torque is the pulling power needed in climbing steep terrains or for light to heavy hauling) while the STA FE GRUNTS A COPIOUS 437 NM of torque. the deal maker here is that you've checked the sta. fe and it has all the interior goodies at a price so reasonable that you can't just afford to miss it. my only reservation for the HYUNDAI STA. FE IS THAT Koreans have to still prove the durability of their make but this is easily compensated by their 5year warranty vs toyota at 3 years warranty period. nonetheless let me admit THE KOREANS HAVE PROVEN THEIR MIGHT IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY WHEN THEY MADE THE HYUNDAI STA. FE.

3. NOW FOR YOUR 3RD CHOICE the chevrolet captiva (maybe the game changer): i will insist for you to wait ( if you can) up to September this year . why? because Covenant THE LOCAL DISTRIBUTOR OF GM in the country will be launching the ALL NEW CHEVROLET CAPTIVA 2.2 vcdi . it packs an enormous hp of about 184 not far from the sta fe's and a very able twisting force of 400nm. the v6 diesel captiva is of vm motori origin ( the engine is assured to run smoothly). like the sta. fe it also has a 3rd row seat making 7 for it's seating capacity and the exterior design is nothing less of being CONTEMPORARY. I still own a 2.0 vcdi captiva which i acquired in 2009 this is still my vehicle of choice when i do my runs from cebu to negros to panay and back to cebu to cdo to davao rendezvous to butuan and back to cdoc and i will tell you how reliable and impregnable it's diesel engine is(diesel engines are tough as nails). noteworthy to mention that it has the best damping technology in it's class. HOWEVER THE ENGINE IS NOT AS QUITE AND AS SMOOTH AS a BMW diesel engine but that of course is another topic.

now if you're into gas fed engines ; may i recommend that you check the  SUBARU FORESTER. THIS IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE COMPACT SUV I've driven. it gives you a profuse perspective of the road, thus eliminating blunders. it has a roomy interior ( ingress and egress will be no challenge) , the mounting and positioning of the driver's seat is well thought of that even in long distance you wont feel your butt or your legs contracting cramps. and the much revered BOXER ENGINE  it seats low so you have the advantage of the laws of physics enabling the center of gravity to make your ride rooted and stable . plus the symmetrical awd is best in it's class no more worries on meander roads (zigzag).

i hope that my avoidance of being too technical on the matter will shed light to your inquiry. for any immediate technical concerns a lot of forumers here are well and able to do so.

happy car-SHOPPING.

ms_confuse:
Hi thanks for the info... It made me think... And decide , I might check first the other brands... Well yes I want "mini suv" ksi when I was in cllge sikat ang rav4 and I told my self I want to have a rav4 so now I want a rav4 hanggang sa ang daming recommendations and suggestions... And fyi una ko ksi na drive fortuner... Then now I am driving my friends altis... Btw yes I'm single but not available ;)

mindkinetic:
hahahah not available (the hahaha should have been huhuhu) just kidding. at any rate ma confuse who doesn't have a fetish for tje rav 4 the 1st time it hit the market . but now fortunately there's an abundant choice of compact suvs and competition in a capitalist world os all about besting the competitor , this to the advantage of su consumers. may i reiterate that the subaru forester is the beat pick in thos segment having been that no particulars wer mentioned as far as how the engine is to be fed. it would also help if i mention that the forester is one favorite of tgp's consumer editor botchi santos. happy carshopping
