I havent driven a 2.0 Civic. We owned two of the Focus TDCi Sport. I have only driven a 1.8S Civic in the past. The Focus TDCi is a well built car with loads of torque and exceptional fuel economy. The Civic being a 2.0 will definitely be very thirsty compared to the Focus. So it actually depends on what you are after. all I can say is that heres one happy Focus TDCi owner here.

the tdci focus is a reputable product from ford . however the civic 2.0 holds more of it's value in the years to come after owning it hence the civic will have a higher resale value.

Yes that is true. New model should be coming in this year and will definitely affect the residual value of the current focus when the time comes that you will be selling it. New car has much better interior and seats. Handling and dynamics for me is pretty much the same as the used the carryover powertrain and suspension from the current focus

Hello! I am planning to get a new car and I want to know the pros and cons of each car.
I'd love to hear your opinion on which car you'd prefer to get as well.

Ford Focus 2.0L Sport TDCi or Honda Civic 2.0s?

Ford Focus TDCi all the way sir! It's a very good car receiving rave reviews and by personal experience from a friend and two cousins who own Focus TDCi's.

The Honda Civic since it's gasoline is thirsty. The Civic is the most problematic car we have had as a family. Wifey's parents has their own Honda Civic. Well, it used to be good, but only when the time it was still new.

We're all into diesels these days and for the long-haul.

Goodluck in your choices chief.

Ford Focus hands done. It is better than the Civic in every way. Even if both of the new models come out, the Focus still rules it all in terms of performance, efficiency, looks both in and out, and built quality. The civic may win in the cost of maintenance because it's a Honda and a gas engine but in the long run the Focus can still give promising results both now and the future.. I can't wait for the new Focus to come out.
