Best SUV in terms of ride and comfort

Good day sir Botchi,

My name is Chester, and I really need your help. My father had just undergone surgery in his spinal bone 5 months ago. He drives a 2011 montero sport gls-v, and he said that the ride and comfort is not good. As it give stress to his back surgery whenever he drives it.
A friend of his has a 2003 isuzu trooper, my father tested it and according him it has way better ride and comfort as compared to his montero sport, and he plans on buying one. I read some of your advice and comments from my fellow top gear members, it seems to me that the hyundai Santa fe has the best ride and comfort and as well as power in its class. So told my father to re think his plan on buying a pre-owned isuzu trooper. Any thought on this please, your advice really means lot to us.

Can you please provide a list of top ten suv's both brand new and pre-owned in terms of ride and comfort, and if possible also a list of suv in terms of overall performance. My father's budget is around P2M(below 2M would be better).

yup, for SUV, sta fe has better ride. but if your father really needs comfortable ride, mid-size sedan is better like camry, accord, teana. plus easier in and out.

if comfort is the only requirement i'd say tell your father to buy a pajero. the pajero offers not only excellent damping technology but it likewise has body support features for the back and lumbar . the only snag is of course the hefty price.

The current Pajero is a bit on the stiff side. Uncle had one, traded it in for the CX9. The CX9 is supple enough, but might be too sporty for the man.

Around 1m, it's the Tucson or the X-Trail, but the Tucson backseat has a small door opening.

Under 2m, for seven seaters, it's the Santa Fe. Nothing else comes close.

Over 2m, there's the Explorer, but it comes with 20" wheels, so it gets clumpy over potholes... though the damping is excellent. There's also the Veracruz, but that's so soft, it's floaty, and not to my tastes.

We pretty much know and trust ISUZU's and I can tune them to my preference....

@dtkiko: so far the range is from 500k- 650k. (u can have one at 500k if ur good in negotiating)

check this links... i test drive them all and for me, they all have solid suspension (we own a 2012 ford explorer, and the ride and comfort is not far the same and far better than the montero thats for sure).

Thanks Chester.... Meron din binebentang 2002 model Trooper sa kabilang forum site that has just clocked-in close to 27,000 km.

When you're at that site, go to the Car Talk section, then Isuzu, then look for the thread Isuzu Trooper discussion at the very last page, or the most current page....
