T3 and Top Gear go online!
January 16, 2009
Summit Media amps up the web presence of two of its top-selling men’s titles, motoring magazine Top Gear and gadgets monthly T3, in February 2009. With the relaunch of TopGear.com.ph and T3mag.com.ph, don’t be surprised if men start spending more time glued to their computers.
Besides staying faithful to the look and tone of the magazines, TopGear.com.ph and T3mag.com.ph will be packed with engaging and interactive features and original content updated daily to keep the magazines’ devotees satisfied and at the same time attract the growing number of netizens who don’t rely on print media for their information fix.
“The last couple of years saw the growth of T3 and Top Gear as magazine brands. We feel that it is time to offer our readers a new and fresh alternative with which to access information that is credible and immediate, and our advertisers, a new and dynamic way with which to communicate and interact with their target market,” Digital Publisher Neil Palabrica states.
The relaunch of TopGear.com.ph and T3mag.com.ph is in line with Summit’s goal of providing advertisers with a 360-degree marketing solution that combines print, digital, events, and other efforts to allow them to communicate to a wider, yet more targeted, audience. In the midst of the Internet explosion, the advertiser can no longer ignore the value of the World Wide Web as a venue for marketing. “The consumers’ needs have changed. Yes, it’s still about reach and brand association, but it’s also all about immediacy, targeted content, engagement, interactivity, and of course, value. Advertisers are now looking for partners who know their target market, talk to their target market, and engage them,” Palabrica explains.
The core offering of T3mag.com.ph is Gadget Feature, which will highlight the month’s hottest gear and contain exclusive glamour shots of the product as well as other comprehensive details and specs. Other highlights of the site will be T3 TV, packed with the latest video reviews, product demos, interviews, launches and behind-the-scenes coverage; Fresh off the Wire, tech news presented blog-style; Geek Chic for girls who go gaga for gadgets; a handy online tech dictionary called Geek Speak, Forums where gadget-lovers can convene, and Freebies for the cheapskate in you. For more information, see T3mag.com.ph’s media kit.
Similarly, TopGear.com.ph stays true to the heart and soul of Top Gear, bringing the magazine’s sections Drives and Buyer’s Guide with it on its web excursion. To make every visit worth the Internet user’s while, the website will allow visitors to watch photo shoots, test-drive reports, and even highlights of the UK TV show Top Gear on TG TV; scan for useful tips on Tip Sheet; browse the News section for the latest in the motoring world; and sound off with fellow car enthusiasts in the Forums. For more information, see TopGear.com.ph’s media kit.
To the fiercely loyal Top Gear and T3 readers who might be wondering if the websites will be up to par with the magazines they love so much, fear not. Top Gear Editor-in-chief Vernon Sarne will be overseeing TopGear.com.ph to make sure the ride goes smoothly, and T3 EIC Vince Sales will be on hand to see that T3mag.com.ph gives visitors a glitch-free experience.

Ah, revamp the TopGear website?
Raynand Olarte:
Apologies if I haven't revealed the exact date of the new topgear.com.ph-its on beta stage though. Any comments on the additional features of the site?
Kitsune:
Does this mean that there will always be 2 contests per month, The caption-this-photo and the other one, in this case, which you could win a Honda Jacket?
