Ford Mondeo

Will Ford ever introduce the Mondeo in the RP market? My friend has an excellent Mondeo (same spec and color as 007 drives in the Bahamas in Casino Royale). I think it would do well. The Focus did! (Focus is the smaller version of the Mondeo- they're both European!)

I think its not part of their current plans, but I guess its still a possibility.

Ford Mondeo

The next "car" models of Ford Group Philippines will probably be smaller than the Focus and Mazda 3.

Quote
Thailand will also be the source of the company’s first small car to be sold in the Philippines in the latter part of this year, according to Baker.
-Business Mirror

AutoAlliance Thailand will manufacture the Mazda 2 and Ford Fiesta models for the ASEAN region. The new $500M AAT facility that will manufacture the Mazda 2 and Fiesta will be operational by the third quarter.

Aren't Ford Mondeos being produced in China as well? Maganda sana siyang alternative sa Toyota Camry, or Honda Accord, complete with diesel engines as well.

Imagine na lang how the Ford Focus arrived here. Nagkaroon ng matinding kalaban ang Toyota Altis dito tuloy. With the Mondeo, history might repeat itself, don't you think?

euro-designed ford cars are very good alternative to japanese cars, the problem is filipinos were glued to the japanese brands that is why there aren't much ford focuses on the Philippine roads...

Just in case Ford Phils. bring in the mondeo,Filipinos should give it a try

Its not that Filipinos are glued to japanese brands but more like Filipinos are generally a conservative bunch when buying cars.  It's because they tend to buy them to last more than five or six years down the road.  Most Americans would be selling off their 4 to 5 year old cars to buy the new model out of the showroom.

And it doesn't help that the Ford Focus is more expensive (to buy and maintain) than the more preferred brand (like Honda and Toyota).

Its a misconception that the Euro-designed Focus is an expensive car (it just looks and feels like one), its actually priced lower than the equivalent Corolla Altis models.
For example:
Corolla Altis 1.6E MT P774K vs Focus 1.8 Style MT P759K
Corolla Altis 1.6G MT P823K vs Focus 1.8 Trend MT P779K
Corolla Altis 1.8V AT P1.035M
Corolla Altis 2.0V AT P1.1M vs Focus 2.0 Ghia AT P989K

thumbs up!

By the way ghosthunter, I have said that Filipinos were glued to japanese brands because the bestsellers in our market belongs to the japanese marks especially those in  main stream categories...I'm not objecting you but I want to express what i mean...

As for the topic, the ford mondeo were a bestseller in europe just like the smaller focus(in hatchback).I can't predict if that will goin to happen here if ford decides to bring in the mondeo...but I hope Ford will sell more quality cars like the mondeo here in the Philippines in the near future...

I hope so too! besides its striking design (I love that sweeping headlights) and a powerful engine, itll be a  breeze to see mondeo's parading in our streets.
