SEPTEMBER 2009 (5th ANNIVERSARY ISSUE):
MINI COOPER S MAKES GOLDEN ARRIVAL!

Top Gear Philippines' September 2009 issue is celebrating two important milestones. First is the magazine's very own fifth anniversary, and second is the expected arrival of the Mini brand--which is itself marking its 50th birthday this year--in the Philippines.

And so it's officially official! Mini, quite possibly the coolest automotive nameplate in the world, is coming to town later this year, and we have the first full-length report. On the cover is the range-topping Mini Cooper S, driven by Botch Santos ahead of its actual launch.

Apart from commemorating our fifth year in the business, our 56th edition also happens to be the Cool Issue, so it's naturally teeming with cool cars. Among these are the new Kia Soul, driven first by Sharleen Banzon; the Mercedes-Benz CLC-Class, probed first by Jason Ang; the BMW X1, given a critical once-over by Brian Afuang; and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce, raced overseas by Richard Hammond.

And because this is the Cool Issue, Paulo Subido works as a car aircon repairman for a day. Dinzo Tabamo, meanwhile, outlines the five ways you can be the coolest car enthusiast in the world in this issue's Top Read. And you wouldn't want to miss our Road Trip destination this month. Let's just say there's a good chance you may need to go there at some point of your car's life span.

Cars driven this month include the Nissan GT-R, the Ford Expedition and the Subaru Impreza Sedan. Fighting for Big Test supremacy are the Mercedes-Benz E300, the Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 and the Lexus GS460.

As a bonus, we also chronicle Michael Schumacher's surprise unmasking as the Stig. Wait...that's not the BONUS. The real incentive is our special Ferrari-Puma promo. To mark the occasion of our fifth anniversary, we are giving away a special package to five lucky readers consisting of a ride in a Ferrari 575 M Maranello as well as a Puma Ferrari shirt and a pair of Puma Supersqualo Lo GT sneakers.

Be cool and grab Top Gear’s 5th anniversary issue now at leading bookshops, magazine stands, convenience stores, fuel stations and car-accessories shops. Still at P150 a copy.
