Starex TDIC or CRDI
« on: January 14, 2010, 10:38:41 AM »
Planning to buy a  2nd Starex for the family, I'm thinking of a 2004 up facelifted one, though I'm torn between the TDIC and CRDi versions. Which is more practical, easier to maintain? I've heard the CRDI is really powerful, though the non-CRDI is easier/cheaper to maintiain? My daily route is Antipolo to Makati with a regular load of 6-8 people. Please help me out, thanks! :)

Ken200, if you go for power and performance, go for CRDI.
If you want it cheaper to maintain, then get the TCI.

Both have enough power to pull the hefty Starex body, both engine are reliable, both engine can be considered a best buy.

But we still recommend you to get the late models, so to avoid lemon Starexes.

(TCi is what we call "TDIC", we still don't know why it's called TDIC.)

choose the crdi, the difference in maintenance is not that big unless you've encounter a lemon.

Thanks for the  :) Yes TDIC is turbo diesel intercooler, nasanay lang ako with the term used for pajeros :D Specifically what differences or additional maintnenance would i have to expect in a CRDI?

CRDI eh mas sensitive kasi ang engine compression nya is almost x5 as compared to TCI,
