2010 F1 re-fuelling ban, good or bad?
« on: February 18, 2010, 03:40:27 pm »
As we know in F1, the driver in pole position is the fastest one and usually the guy who will win the race. But because of fuel strategies, it will give drivers and teams options on how to win races even if your not or you dont have the fastest driver or car out there. For me, it makes the race exciting cause you know they are thinking on how to battle with their fast competitors.

And now, no more re-fuelling...

Is this good or bad? If Schumi will have the fastest car out there, will it be a boring Schumi season washout again like what happen to his Ferrari winning ways?

or

Will it be like an action pack racing like in MotoGP where there is no expected pitstop?

 ???

I agree with some of the people who said that the ban on refuelling will make the race in a way a predictable.

With this new rule, you have eliminated the element of surprise in terms of pit-strategies by 90% if I may put it that way. If you remember during the Schumi and Mika days, Ross told Schumi I need 10 qualifying laps from you because he was on three stopper that time, then he won over the superior McLaren.

Wala na ang ganyan ngayon. Last year ginaya ni Alonso sa Hungary yun pero nasira auto niya kaya wala din. Di na pwede mag-pole ang mabagal na auto this season sa tingin ko.

In my opinion it will just be a game of tyre poker as to what approach do you intend to drive your race by phase. Drivers can still choose what tyre to use during the different stages of the race.

What's exciting though is how will they manage their fuel loads and tyres while putting up a show. Ang ganda niyan pag umuulan, all of them will slide there way to get a good position.

Mas malaki ang responsibility ng drivers ngayon to win a G.P sa tingin ko.

Very controversial, kasi on last season, they will fill their tank to the brim sa 3rd round of qualifying, tapos kung ilan matira yun na ang gagamitin sa race day, then refill na din pag mauubos na.

Yung iba hindi na pumapasok sa Q3 para full tank sila sa raceday kahit 10th position sila they could play 1 lesser pitstop than others making them contender for top 3 finishers.

Hindi ko pa alam yung regulations ngayon. Will they be allowed fulltank at the start of the race? hmmmmm......
