i thought with the new points system was really a very good innovation for 2010 but when i computed the points of the drivers using the old points system, nothing's change except for Lewis' chances...

here are the standings and points showing the new and the old scoring system:

Alonso   246   100
Webber   238   97
Vettel   231   93
Hamilton   222   92
Button   199   78
Massa   143   58

So alonso still wins if he finishes above 3rd no matter who wins in abu dhabi...
if vettel is #1 and webber #2, alonso still wins...
etc...

clearly alonso is the #1 driver for ferrari... heck i even think it is stipulated in their contracts that he is... that's why it was so easy for massa to give the place up at the german GP... that's how they play...

the best interest of the team is the constructors championship! obviously, since they are a long way, every other award up for grabs should be taken seriously! this i understand... and this is the philosophy at ferrari! that was why they were so dominant because they never left anything to chance (i remember how quick they were in notifying the FIA as soon as other teams -- especially Mclaren -- did something different, impeded their drivers, etc...). this is ferrari's way!

but whether it is right or wrong, now that is debatable! i am a fan! i understand but do not agree with their call. if it was the last race, last lap, i would understand that. it can be argued that they did that because they did not want to be in that position. and that they will do whatever so that it would not lead to that situation. i guess if they were less blatant, then it wouldn't be such a big issue.

i do agree that redbull is favoring vettel. it just so happened that webber is leading the points. that front aero package incident in silverstone was a give-away! solid remark by webber too! hahaha -- "not bad for a number 2 driver!" hahahaha! but after the ferrari incident, and all the negative comments it brought, i think they re-thought their strategy...

if they get the set-up right, i think the bulls can be dominant in abu dhabi! though the mclarens and ferraris are still quicker in the straights, i think the bulls are no longer slouches either.... if the bulls dominate, with vettel on top and alonso 3rd, i think vettel will give it to webber on the last lap (if binigay na nya kaagad, then may mangyari pa kay alonso, sya sana champion)!

exciting tong last race!!!! wooohooo!!!! ;D

Vettel WINS!!!! Woot Woot!!!  ;D now the youngest F1 Champ (used to be Lewis) and surprisingly, only the 2nd German F1 Champ!!!!  ;D

Who would have thought that the slower cars would play a very crucial role in the championships!!!! ;D

the issue on team orders in Germany is now moot and academic  ;D

no one got any in Abu Dhabi (well maybe lewis and jenson... hahahaha!)... points that is... ;)

so for 2010, we have a new F1 Top Gear Champion: MIKA!!!!!! with 217 points! Congrats bro!  ;)

and Robin as Runner-Up with 171 points!

maybe for next season, to make it more exciting, let's have 5 bets per race instead of this year (and last year) na 3 lang... game?
can't wait till March!!!!!!

Thanks bro game ako sa top 5 next year!! but i'm really sad for alonso.. (biglang drama hehe...)  :D

the man has extreme talent with a car and most of all a "team" that's good enough to secure points for each race only and yet he was able to challenge the bulls.

in my opinion ferrari cost him the race because he should have not entered the pit to answer webber's move. dapat tinignan nila who pitted during the safety car period kasi maiipit sila sa traffic dahil nag hard tyre na mga mid fielder. when webber did that i knew that the race was between button and alonso na, which was ok if alonso got 4th kasi sha pa din ang champion nun. his pace on a soft tyre was better than those midfielders on hard tyres kaya mauunahan din niya yun pag nag pit sha provided that he manages the tyres well like what button did. napaka dali ng race para kay alonso dapat eh.

i don't know why alex yoong and i saw it and not those highly paid italian a holes...(hehe) kaka inis eh sorry.. >:(

wala na talaga kwenta ferrari as a team, from designs to decisions. i would love to be wrong next year pero nanghihinayang ako kay alonso. he's the best out there.

my f1 betting jinx continues... check my bets and alonso's results.. talagang masagwa time pa ni hakkinen ganyan na. hehe...

congrats seb your the youngest champ but can you be the youngest double world champ??? see you next year. malupit talaga redbull they all deserve this hands down.

hopefully, mercedes delivers next year... excused sila this year since Brawn did so little in terms of investing for the 2010 season (and the competition was already catching up during the latter part of 2009)... hopefully, with much needed investment brought in by Mercedes this year, the 2011 silver arrows will be fighting for the top spot... still crossing my fingers on this one!  ;)

Mclaren too with their upgrades finally sorted out in abu dhabi looks strong coming into 2011...

Ferrari, well, you can never count them out... with an embarrasing 2009 campaign, and a 3rd place in the constructor's championship in 2010, you can bet that they will be so fired up to redeem themselves in 2011. With alonso too, a very good and deadly combination!

Vettel will still be extremely quick. Webber too will be fired up. but the question will be on their cars. the Bulls, well, they seem to be consistent in developing their cars... they will again be using renault engines, which are more reliable this year but still underpowered versus the ferraris and mercedes.

would you know if there will be KERS next year? it would again be Tire Poker since they will all switch to Pirelli next season...

damn can't wait till March!!!!!!

i don't think kers will be in use for next year. i share your points also. i would really love to see michael on a car that fits his style of driving.

start ka na pare ng forum for 2011  hehe..
