The all new Fortuner and Hi-lux
« on: September 12, 2012, 04:00:59 pm »
Toyota Motor Philippines has finally given its SUV and pickup the upgrade both models badly need, and that is variable nozzle turbocharger (VNT) technology.

The VNT technology improves the engine's fuel efficiency while increasing its power and torque by 40 percent and 30 percent, respectively.

Both the Current Fortuner and hilux have 163/3,400 output and 343/1,400 -3,200 torque, with the VNT technology Both cars now have (according to my calculations at 40%) a whooping  228/3,400 Output and 480/1,400-3200 torque.

If this is true then, I'll be selling my monty.hahaha

sir your calculations are wrong because only the 2.5liter variant got an upgrade, the 3.0 variant of the fortuner already has VNT ever since it reach production

Well I really dont know. but it was clearly stated in the link that not only the 2.5G variant that will receive the 40% and 30% boost. yes, your right my calculations were wrong, because i dont know the Max output and torque of the 3.0V variant when it did not recieve the 40%&30%boost.

contrary to the belief, I'm not mr. know-it-all I just got my knowledge based on reading different articles and having conversations with who's who from the industry to be sure that the data I've gathered is accurate/factual

Some say he reads other car mags aside from Top Gear. And that he also dreams of cars at night.
All we know is he is not The Stig, but he is the Stig's Car-Wiki Guru. :)
