Dad is a self employed builder. He cannot afford new so was always buying old cars and vans, although for a while he could afford a car and a van, but still not new ones.
First van was an Austin A35 - like the one in "Curse of the Were-Rabbit". Next came an A55, a Bedford CA, and an FX4 London Taxi. After that he was on Mk1 Ford Transits for a few years, a Mk1 Escort van that I learned to drive in, before getting a "Light weight" Land Rover. This was followed by a Series 3 Land Rover. These days he prefers to run estate cars as he gets all his materials delivered to site, so only has to transport his tools.
Cars I can remember him having were an Austin Cambridge (Farina shape) several Rover P4's before slumming it in a Ford Anglia which Mum made him sell after a few weeks. This was replaced by a Mk2 Ford Consul, then it was vans only for a few years. When I left home he got himself an Austin Allegro, followed by a 4WD Subaru estate that had the best heater in the world - very essential in the North of England! The Subaru lasted him many years and he has since run various Vauxhall Astras.
