Top Gear Philippines

June is the month in which Filipinos across the globe celebrate our nation’s independence. And like the freedom that our forefathers fought so gallantly to earn, the feeling us car lovers get when we hit the open road is a liberation that’s unlike any other. From the steady roar of the engine to your white-knuckle grip on the steering wheel, the adrenaline rush of a good drive is one that never, ever gets old. This month, you can celebrate your vehicular independence by hitting up these automotive events:

June 19-25

Garage IV, SM City Sucat

If you live south of the metro, then it’s worth your time to check out this upcoming show at SM City Sucat. Judging by the official event poster, attendees of this event can expect some sweet merchandise, a slew of classic and mode rides, and some scantily-clad car show girls who are (hopefully) willing to be in your selfies. Just remember to be polite and respectful when you ask for their picture. Considering that the last Garage show had rock band Slapshock onstage to join the festivities, this is a show you won’t want to miss.

June 24

The Grim Night 2 CARMOTOSHOW 2.1

Did you enjoy racing games or car chase movies growing up? If so, then this is your kind of car show. Now in its second year, The Grim Night events capture that night time, street racer vibe that we all yearned for as kids. Events will include a quarter-mile race (“Dude, I almost had you!”), car limbo, car burnouts, slalom, plus entertainment sideshows like dance and rap battles. Tank tops and frosted tips are optional.

June 16-18

Wheels x Grills

This Father's Day, make a stop at Bonifacio High Street and check out Wheels and Grills. You and your pop are sure to marvel at the exotic car displays, while chowing down on some great grub from a slew of food trucks scheduled to be part of this event. Also, make sure to stay for the quiz night segment sponsored by Top Gear, where you and your dad can team up, answer some car-themed questions, and earn cool prizes.

To maintain your freedom out on the open road, you need to fill up your car with the best fuel possible for optimum performance. Petron XCS offers 95 octane of premium triple-action gasoline. That means superior engine protection, better engine response, and optimal fuel efficiency for your ride. Your car, just like your country, deserves nothing but the best. Drop by your nearest Petron station now to fuel up and keep your vehicular freedom going strong.
