Here's something that might be of interest to motorists: How hot does it really get inside a closed car? Apparently, hot enough to burn a pizza in less than 30 minutes.

According to Israeli chef Haim Cohen, the temperature inside a parked car can rise very quickly, ultimately getting as hot as 70 degrees Celcius (109 degrees Fahrenheit). This bodes especially true for a hot climate country such as the Philippines. Watch this:

A U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration study adds that cars parked in direct sunlight can reach internal temperatures of up to 51 to 82 degrees Celcius in the summer. Simply put, you're looking at an instant oven toaster. It will not only cook your pizza; it will toast it.

The takeaway of this story? Do not leave your pizza unattended inside the car. Especially now that free pizzas are up for grabs, courtesy of Caltex and Greenwich's "Have a Slice Day" promo.

From September 15 to November 15, those who will gas up at Caltex will receive an Ultimate Overload Pizza, free of charge. Here's how it works:

1. Earn one pizza stub for every P1,000 single-receipt purchase of Gold with Techron, Silver with Techron, and Diesel with Techron D at participating Caltex Stations.

2. Collect three pizza stubs, and exchange them for a Greenwich pizza coupon.

3. Present your pizza coupon at any Greenwich branch to get a solo Ultimate Overload Pizza. Coupon holders will also get the chance to win an all-expense paid road trip and appear in GMA News TV's Biyahe ni Drew.
