Balinghasay says yes there is nothing special about the legacy; its permanent AWD and more efficient turbocharged engine with its sublime and neutral handling is nothing special as it is designed in JAPAN because it is a JAPANESE car; not like the SPECIAL ACCORD eventhough made by Honda it was designed in AMERICA for AMERICANS because there is a smaller accord designed elsewhere and the FACT that its considered to be a FULLSIZE car with its common V6 and FWD drivetrain as compared to the Legacy as a MIDSIZE car. yes there is nothing special about the Legacy. . . I want Honda accord because of it's looks inside and out. I prefer luxury than sporty. I think turbochargers makes your car noisy because i saw a video of a Toyota Camry with TRD turbochargers in Youtube. They consider accord as an full size sedan because of it's dimensions not it's engine and drive train. Camry V6 is not considered as an full size sedan. John and Fortis show us your ride! And turbocharger's dont make a car noisy, Its their exhaust system that produce noise. Learned anything yet. I probably know more about Subaru's history than some of the Subaru salesmen/women. but you need to chill. nobody's perfect... Look at you. You wrote that the Legacy has an I-4. ehhh. wrong. it's a flat 4. world of difference there... and I'm guessing skapunkboy01 doesn't give a schmuck about Subarus. Not many people do. • Hans says skapunkboy01. Dude. I don't have a license either. Which is why if you look at my comment, I only talk about the technical stuff. I've read tuning magazines and normal magazines. I've learned how these different technicalities affect a car. As dudes who don't get to drive awesome cars like the Legacy just yet, technicalities are all we have. The Legacy is safer because of it's ring-shaped reinforcement frame (read up on this. Subaru went to great lengths to make it very safe). It's more economical, theoretically, because it has 4 cylinders, not 6. It can be driven almost anywhere in the Philippines, mud, gravel, or sand, thanks to AWD, ground clearance permitting. It's more exclusive. It comes in estate form so the mother of the family won't complain about her shopping goods. It's sunroof is larger. And based on the looks, I almost mistook a Legacy for an Accord. Until I saw the aggresive face. Objectively, the Legacy is a safer, more enjoyable, and more practical car. The Accord is probably better to lounge in and it has an innovative ECU. that's about it. (19 December 2009)

Hey everybody take it easy on the kid, he does not know "technicalities" but he has "experience of riding a luxury car" so he can make an informed comment in a car enthusiast site. As you have admitted you had a mistake; that of Subaru being an American car company. But you made 4 mistakes in your first comment including what i just stated, so your next mistake is saying that the legacy is "nothing special". If you compared the accord to a camry and you said that its nothing special, I would have agreed with you; but the "technical aspects" of a car is what makes it special, so saying that a car having a turbo horizontally-opposed engine with all-wheel drive is not special is like saying that a porsche isnt special, which FYI is the only other car company that produces that kind of configuration. third mistake is assuming that the legacy is bigger than the accord without knowing its dimensions. and lastly writing a comment in a car mag site without knowledge of what he is talking about. you should have just stated that you liked the accord and nothing more, but being the kid that you are thats expected from you. . .merry xmas kid (20 December 2009)

I find it amusing/fascinating/entertaining/interesting when bigger/larger-displacement engines are beaten or matched up by smaller ones. Just like how subaru's 2.5 liter engine almost matches up with honda's 3.5 in horsepower ratings and how the former beats the later in torque ratings. With engine specifications, I think both are equally matched. In terms of performance, I can only assume that the legacy is playing a different level on the premise that it is more sports minded than the accord. In terms of looks, well, that depends on who is looking. Beauty, after all, is subjective. When the accord was new, I fell in love with it, Just like how I fell in love with the Camry when it was. But with the legacy, I'm struggling to love it, but I really want it! (21 December 2009)

When I said "I see nothing special about legacy" I meant the looks of it. At first I thought that Subaru is an American car because my credible friend told me. I admitted my mistake when this car enthusiast corrected me. Fortis said " If you are a type who buys cars just for the sake of using it for traveling from point A to B well the Accord is for you." Well, I'm that type of guy. I know AWD cars will have more traction than FWD and RWD cars. It doesn't matter to me. Accord is worth buying for 2M because of its generous interior with 6 airbags, navigation system and engine that has a VCM technology (Variable Cylinder Management). Honda does a car that serves its purpose. Subaru goes that extra mile. Maybe just that. :> and also, so what if you're "just" learning? Unless you have intentions of going on a vocational course for a mechanic or something, it shouldn't matter. The other car enthusiasts here, including me, didn't learn everything from other people. Learn to research in your free time about car things instead of going ahead and arguing with car enthusiasts about things you know nothing about (compared to them, or us, anyway) I'm guessing you're about my age? Dude, I learned most things on my own. Read up before you discuss these things. There's a lot to learn. You cannot say the Accord is better than the Legacy based on its face and its space. This is a car mag's site. We talk of deeper specs than what your tita next door looks for. We aren't babaw people here, dude. The Camry you have is a great leather-faux wood-padded box. • Joseph says the legacy was designed to compete against the likes of the camry and the accord. Even if the turbocharged engine is noisy, sound insulations will prevent you from being disturbed by the noise. This is the best of both worlds. (01 January 2010)

• ramibel says thanks botchi. i kind'a figured the legacy would be your choice. it was mine, too, from the start. just needed to reinforce what i already knew. am getting my black legacy sedan in two to three weeks (sorry, am partial to sedans). its a fair substitute for my dream car - an audi RS4 - at a bargain price. i drive to work mostly at NLEX anyway, so its perfect for me. i'll probably leave off the mods for now, at least until the warranty expires. chip upgrade, new exhaust, 19" mags with 245/35-19 tires, lowering springs (?) . . . it will give me something to look forward to when the new car novelty wears off. :-) p.s. ariel de jesus of motor image is my 1st cousin.
