Which vehicle deserves the 2011 World Car Design of the Year award?

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - 2011 World Car Awards name nominees for Design of the Year

The 2011 World Car Awards has announced eight nominees for its Design of the Year award. Unfortunately, none of the eight nominated vehicles are currently being sold in the country.

These nominated cars are: the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the Aston Martin Rapide, the Audi A7, the Citroen DS3, the Ferrari 458, the Honda CR-Z, the Kia Sportage and the Nissan Juke.

The 2011 awards marks the fifth time a Citroen has been nominated as a finalist for the Design of the Year award, which it won in 2006 for the C4. Audi is another brand that has been successful in earning the title for two consecutive years--in 2007 and 2008. Kia is also no stranger to the award as the Soul was recognized as one of the top three finalists in 2010.

The eight nominees were chosen from a list of 51 candidates that were all introduced and sold in at least one major market between January 1, 2010 and May 30th, 2011. A design panel consisting of five highly-respected design experts is then asked to review each candidate before establishing a short-list of recommendations for the 66 World Car Awards jurors. The jurors then vote for the top three design finalists, which will be announced at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. The overall winner will be revealed at the New York International Auto Show in April.

Previous winners of the World Car Design of the Year award were the Chevrolet Camaro in 2010, the Fiat 500 in 2009, the Audi R8 in 2008, the Audi TT in 2007 and the Citroen C4 in 2006.

If you were among the judges in the search for the 2011 World Car Design of the Year, which vehicle will get your vote?

Hands down, the AM Rapide. The perfectly designed 4-door supercar without losing the Aston Martin identity.
The Alfa is simple and beautiful.
The A7 is aggressive but still a little too conservative.
The Citroen has no appeal to me.
The 458 was designed w/ aerodynamics in mind but I still think it is uglier than the F430.
I don't even know why the CR-Z got nominated.
The Kia is surprisingly handsome and European-like in design (major thanks to Mr. Schreyer) w/c is a surprise because if comes from Kia.
The Juke I find bold and quirky... but a little too polarizing.

seriously??? the Ferrari 458 is leading the poll here in TGP??? is it because it's a Ferrari & people think it's beautiful by default???? hands down to the Rapide & the Giulietta is a very cloe second...

F458 for me. A lot way better than 599 and F430. I already saw actual one in AUH motor show. It's really gorgeous.

The ALFA is gorgeous can't find a fault in it.

The Ferrari looks good but am distracted to see it always on fire too bad.
