Top Gear lubricant, anyone?

We have seen jeepneys and car-repair shops with the Top Gear logo adorning them, but this one definitely takes the cake. Associate editor Paulo Subido found this gear oil "brand" in Baguio, and believes this is also being sold in Banawe. We should really be suing, but we're still too amused for now. All we really want to know in the meantime is: Would you actually buy "Top Gear" lubricant and use it on your car? Just wondering.

Never heard of it, so No. I'd still use known and established brands like castrol, shell, liquimoly, etc...
Based from the photo, I can tell that it's a rip-off. Who knows maybe its just a recycled oil put into a container.

Isn't National a local brand? I've seen their logo before on the vinyl covers PUV jeeps used to have on their driver-side mounted spare tire. :)

Nonetheless, does Summit's franchise or license to "Top Gear" extend to enforcing it against this kind of (ab)use?

I think, it is not an EXACT copy of the brand/logo. Iba nga yung font eh hehe.

It' a gear oil and it makes sense(TopGear Oil) but the maker intentionally did not attach the word oil. Also, there is no word Philippines below the TopGear and National is the brand name. TopGear then is just one of their products, that is, gear oil SAE 140 and for the motor oil, maybe no TopGear on it. We are in the Philippines and not in US and to go after the maker of the gear oil, it will take years and the amount of money is not that much as in the US. Anyway, TGP might consult their lawyers and go to court if their case is really strong. I'll just wait for the outcome then.
