Top Gear Ph takes Kia vehicles to Bicol

The end of the year and the beginning of the new one are an extremely busy time for the Top Gear team. Aside from putting together the January/February issue, we simultaneously work on the Roll-Out Issue while planning for the March one. So when the idea of a road trip to Bicol gets approved, we all get excited.

The trip will span four days using Kia's recreational vehicle lineup: the Sportage, the Sorento and the Carnival. Because of the distance involved, half the time will be spent traveling. But a lot of the fun is getting there. Good company, good music, good cars, what more can you ask for? We leave after breakfast on Thursday. The weather is on and off, raining for the most part, making the cars filthy.

We hit Bitukang Manok in Quezon National Forest Park, located between the towns of Pagbilao, Padre Burgos and Atimonan in Quezon. Photographer Mikko David and videographer Marco Subido make the most of the picturesque setting. Check out the photos and video below.

    To Top Gear staff: I'm assuming you guys sometimes travel until it's dark...did you ever encounter any NPA checkpoint? My friend did once...

    Delikado yung shot sa Quezon zigzag ha, kaway kaway lang pag byaheng Bicol kayo dito lang ako sa Gumaca. You mentioned Gumaca in the magazine article.

    Mind you, Top Gear did a Pagudpud to Sorsogon full tank drive last 2006 using Ford Expedition, the story is way way more exciting and fun to read than this one. I was sold to that story why until now I'm still a Top Gear fan. Recently their test drive trip stories get boring to read. Sorry guys.
