Preparing for Typhoon Hagupit

It has only been a little over a year since super typhoon Yolanda battered the country (particularly Tacloban), so images of lost lives and severely damaged cars are still fresh in our memory. And now we're bracing for yet another super typhoon, which aptly goes by the name Hagupit. Said to pack sustained winds of 240kph--nearly as much as the maximum factory-set top speed of stock cars today--this storm could wreak serious havoc in affected areas.

We've been receiving photos of car owners preparing for Hagupit's arrival, many of them wrapping their vehicles with some sort of layered protection. The pictures you see here were sent by Joshua Dave Ortiz, who said: "This is how my uncle, Ronnel Zipagang, is preparing for the typhoon in Northern Samar. This is to prevent the roof from being flown away."

Indeed, a man has to do what he's got to do, not only to preserve life but also to guard property. Stay safe, everyone!
