Our art director Raynand Olarte stumbled upon a YouTube video of Maine Mendoza, one half of the popular AlDub couple, on a solo road trip. She recorded herself doing what propelled her to instant fame in the first place: Dubsmash videos.

To those unfamiliar with AlDub, you’re most likely wondering why she contorts her face in such unflattering poses. Well, to put it simply, this is part of her appeal: She’s the antithesis of all the young stars nowadays who will die before they get photographed from a bad angle.

Nonetheless, it’s just nice to see one of the most recognizable faces in the country taking time out to just go on a solo drive. We can’t identify her vehicle, although it looks like the cabin of a Subaru Forester. We forwarded the video to our friends at local Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas, and they concurred that it looks like a Forester--the top XT variant based on the sunroof and the leather seats--but this can’t be guaranteed 100% based on the limited view of the cabin. But hey, we like this girl’s taste in cars already.

Yes, we also noticed she didn’t seem to be wearing a seatbelt. But in the notes of her video, Maine stated that she was wearing the lower part so that she could move freely, and she fastened it properly after shooting the clip. However, we believe this lessens the effectiveness of the safety equipment. So Maine, please buckle up next time to be safe. We still want to make you our Traffic Stopper.
