TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Bremont to create limited-edition timepiece for Jaguar E-Type

For a limited-edition timepiece created to mark the arrival of a brand-new car, it doesn't get any more exclusive than this. To celebrate the production of the final six Jaguar Lightweight E-Type cars, the British carmaker has partnered with watchmaker Bremont to create six limited-edition wristwatches that will not only complement the aforementioned car, but will also be offered to the buyers of the six Lightweight E-Types.

To be built using the remaining aluminum from the six Lightweight E-Types, the 43mm watch will feature a black dial that's based on the car's tachometer, have chamfered hour and minute hands to replicate the car's tachometer needle, and display the car's chassis and engine number (with the former located at the six o'clock position). An alloy-spoked replica of the car's authentic wooden rim steering wheel can be found at the back, while the winding crown will be engraved with the pattern of the car's period-correct racing tires.

Lastly, the watch will feature Bremont's first proprietary self-winding movement chronometer that's "rated for accuracy and fitted with a 'steering wheel' rotor."

"The Lightweight E-Type project is so special that we thought we really needed to create something that complemented the cars, and since most classic enthusiasts also tend to be horophiles, a wristwatch seemed to be the answer," said Jaguar design director Ian Callum. "Bremont was the obvious choice as a partner, both because we have worked closely together in the past on the clocks for the C-X75 and XJ75 Platinum concept cars, and because, like Jaguar, it is a quintessentially British brand."
