It's no secret that Michael Jordan loves driving Maranello's most famous products. So it’s no surprise that Nike is releasing a colorway of the Air Jordan 14 done in the iconic Ferrari red and yellow hues. On top of the distinct red suede, there are also carbon-fiber accents, yellow trim, and a Jumpman logo in the Ferrari-style shield. All that's missing is the actual Ferrari badge, because legally Nike can’t do that since Puma holds the official rights to the Italian car brand.
But that won't stop sneakerheads--MJ fans, Ferrari fans or both--from trooping to their favorite shoe stores on September 6 when this special-edition pair arrives. Even with a price tag of $200 (P8,740), we expect these to be sold out as fast as a Ferrari 458 goes from rest to 100kph.
That date, by the way, is the American release date. But we have a strong sneaker culture here, so expect the Air Jordan 14 "Ferraris" to arrive soon at your favorite sneaker specialty store.
And if you happen to see an extra pair or two, let us know. We’d be grateful for the tip.
