Hyundai to bring in four new vehicles this year

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Hyundai to bring in four new vehicles this year

Hyundai Asia Resources (HARI), the exclusive distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, could be putting up a strong challenge to steal the second highest spot in sales from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Philippines as it is gearing up to bring in four new models this year.

The first would be the Hyundai Eon, which HARI hopes will arrive just in time for the Manila International Auto Show in March.

Asked how Hyundai easily shifted the production of the right-hand-drive Eon, which is made in India, to left-hand-drive markets like the Philippines, Rafael Batuigas of HARI's marketing services department revealed that that has always been the plan for the five-door city car.

"That's really the plan for the Eon; to sell it in the emerging markets soon after its launch in India last October 2011, that's why there were no problems in changing the production from right hand- to left hand-drive," said Batuigas.

Another car that's slated to come in either on the second or third quarter of the year is the updated Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

"Hyundai was very surprised with how the Philippine market has received the Genesis Coupe," shared HARI chief executive Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo. "When we first brought it in in 2009, it was still on an indent basis. Now, we're selling as many as 20 to 30 units a month. Some dealers are even stocking up on the Genesis Coupe because of the demand."

Rounding out the list of new Hyundai cars to be brought in by HARI before the end of 2012 according to Batuigas are the Veloster and the all-new Santa Fe.

What will you be buying?

Sta. Fe (2.2diesel or 2.4gdi) with led tail lights and daytime running lights plus hid and fog lights. Sana with adaptive headlights and with cruise control plus power everything including the tailgate, and lastly, the price should be the same with the current model.

I hope the veloster is less than Genesis Coupe Entry which is 1.3million.. Also I hope the Santa Fe to be price competetive versus the Montero Sport and Fortuner.

If I had the cash, I'd put a deposit now for an orange Veloster Turbo. If I had the cash.... which I kinda don't. Oh well. :( But I'm glad Hyundai is over the GDi vs. Philippine fuel issue.

Its a great crdi battle between the upcoming Hyundai santa fe 2.2 VGT 200hp and the upcoming Chevrolet trailblazer 2.8.Duramax turbo 180hp.. I've read so many reviews/specs about this two great SUV and my problem is choosing betwen Santa Fe & Trailblazer for my next brandnew SUV...The competition (Montero/Fortuner) should be worry for this upcoming great SUV..Any Recomendation or Suggestion you guys(topgear fanatics) out there... Thanks & God bless to all Topgear Fanatics including me... Happy Motoring....

Cge Hyundai mag-saya na kayo, PARTY PARTY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

If I had the cash, then it would be the Gen Coupe. But then again I also would like to wait for the Subayota twins - the Subaru BRZ and the Toyota 86! Topgear, I smell a mano-a-mano here! Please feature this WAR, chief VBS!

this is what free trade is all about the abolition of monopoly in the market paves way for better products. as in the case of cars we expect neo designs, induced engines, techie appontments and safety features to complete the repertoire of the line up of any car manufacturer. hence regardless as to what car brand your coming from , today is a day to be grateful for all new cars in 2012 will manifest into flesh for our eyes pleasure albeit the financial inability . more competition in the market all the more for the consumers to accrue the benefits

May duda akong non-GDI ang engines ng new Genesis Coupe na lalabas dito sa Pinas.

Malamang nasa 1.680 Million Pesos nayang low end na new generation Santa Fe CRDI E-VGT!
