Land Rover Philippines launches Range Rover Evoque

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car NEws - Land Rover Philippines launches Range Rover Evoque

LRPhils Motors has officially unveiled the Range Rover Evoque, the latest addition to the Ranger Rover line and the smallest, lightest, and most fuel efficient sport utility vehicle in its vehicle lineup.

"The Range Rover Evoque is a new generation of SUV that attracts customers who have not previously considered getting an SUV. However, it stands out from the crowd with its performance and design features that can only be experienced from a premium Land Rover vehicle," said Wellington Soong, president and chairman of Land Rover Philippines.

The sleek, low-profile design of the Range Rover Evoque departs from the traditionally boxy Range Rover structure as it was inspired by Land Rover's LRX concept vehicle which was displayed at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The Evoque also represents Land Rover's progressive shift towards producing sustainable vehicles while keeping its core values of providing premium levels of craftsmanship, luxury, performance, and the brand's renowned all-terrain capability. Despite its size, the Range Rover Evoque doesn't compromise on interior space and the traditional Land Rover elevated command driving position.

The Evoque's interior trim is typical Range Rover with the abundance of soft-touch leather on the seats, dashboard and panels. It also gets an 8-inch touch-screen multimedia display that's paired to a Meridian audio system, a 360-degree surround camera system composed of five digital cameras that provide real-time viewing and adaptive auto-dipping xenon headlamps that follow the curves of the road and automatically switches between high and low beam as needed. A panoramic roof is also available as an add-on option.

The Evoque is powered by an all-new 240hp, inline-four 2.0-liter Si4 turbocharged direct-injected engine that, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, delivers excellent performance and fuel economy. Helping the Evoque tackle different kinds of terrain is its MagneRide magneto-rheological damper technology which has been configured for more dynamic and agile handling as well as its exclusive built-in Land Rover technologies like the Terrain Response and Hill Descent Control systems.

Though a handful of Evoques is already stored in Land Rover Philippines' storage facility, most have already been pre-sold though 12 more are currently making its way to the Philippines. For those who are more selective about their Evoque when it comes to customizing it, turn around time from placing an order with the bespoke trim and options added to it to receiving its key from Land Rover Philippines takes as much as four months.

The Evoque is available in three trims, with the mid-range Prestige trim with its 19-inch wheels and metallic details making up the bulk of Land Rover Philippines’ Evoque stock. For the five-door variant, Land Rover Philippines' selling price for it is P5.35 million while for the sportier looking, three-door variant, its asking price is P5.5 million.

As for the range-topping Dynamic variant with its 20-inch wheels, unique bumpers, sills, grille and tailpipes, contrasting roof and spoiler colors, perforated leather seats and unique sports detailing, it can go for as much as P7 million while the entry-level Pure variant is available on an indent basis.

"I have been a Land Rover employee for 22 years and I have never been as moved by any of our vehicles as the Evoque," said Mitchell Cameron, Asia Pacific aftersales director for Jaguar Land Rover. "The demand for the Evoque for Asia Pacific, particularly in China, has been surprisingly huge that I believe we've already reached our expected number of sales for the region for the year. I'm sure the Evoque being named as the 2012 North American Truck of the Year yesterday will only boost its sales even further."

Sir, In my humble opinion, the Tucson is not an ALTERNATIVE to this PREMIUM Evoque. Probably, you could just say, it can be replaceable with an x3. in the part of the PREMIUM Land Rover, that was just saddening. IMHO. :)

That prices are for the Range Rover Evoque Prestige 2.2L SD4 Turbo Diesel (190PS and 420Nm), Coupe (5.5M) and 5-Door (5.35M) variants. Seen it yesterday at the launch. Got some pics here: http://goo.gl/B7GTa And I've spotted a Ferrari 458 Italia and a 599 GTO in their showroom. Lots of crazy stuff there. If you want to see that Evoques they'll have a display on Rockwell today.

the 2.0L petrol engine in this car is actually Ford's 2.0L Ecoboost engine that's also on the new explorer.
I have to agree that it's too pricey. 7M is in the realm of Godzilla.

This SUV is pretty damned good...!! Even though we can only read it's specs on magazines, articles and internet. We can judge that the RANGE ROVER EVOQUE is the best, by par, SUV in this segment ever created by LR itself or either any car manufacturers. With their pioneering of creation, definitely others will follow too. It's hard to admit almost of us can't afford to buy this one, but we can only say is that the RR EVOQUE is the grade A. I really wish to own this one. S. Claus can't give to us this right now coz christmas season is over so our only hope is to try our luck with the numbers (6/49 etc...) ^_^

Nice. Had a chance to look around inside in a car show in the US. Ganda nung interior, parang kotse lang, hindi parang SUV and maliit yung monocoque niya. Yung interior parang Mazda 6 yung feel.

Mejo ridiculous yung presyo nga lang dito. Base model doon nasa ~Php2M

Inside & out of this compact Crossover are pretty damn good so with it' tag.
I can barely afford one, but am aware of the Rover's quality.
I may have to shift to it's well-priced rivals like the JUKE, OUTY SPORT/ASX, QASHQAI/DUALIS, GMC TERRAIN & the coming SUBARU XV crossover. I can save more than half of the Evoque price.

Thanks LR for the Evoque... Hopefully they can decrease the price to P3M-P3.5M so everybody can afford.
