Nismo reveals GT-R for GT3 series

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - NISMO reveals GT-R for GT3 series

Nissan Motorsport has finally revealed its race car that readily conforms to the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile's (FIA) GT3 regulations: the aptly-named Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.

Together with JR Motorsports (JRM), Nismo developed the car in 2011. Following a series of extensive tests--which included three competitive outings--the car's performance and durability have proven to be acceptable for the GT3 racing series worldwide.

The GT-R Nismo GT3 is basically a stripped-out, road-going GT-R that's been fitted with a full roll cage, fully adjustable suspension, extra cooling ducts and an aggressive aerodynamics package. Powering it is a 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that's based on the standard road car and which puts out over 520hp. Paired to it is a six-speed transaxle that drives the rear wheels and is activated by a semi-automatic paddle-shift system.

Designed with customers in mind, drivability has been an important factor in the new car's development program. Therefore, as well as featuring a chassis that inspires confidence, the GT-R Nismo GT3's suspension setup and driver controls can easily be adjusted to suit a range of preferences.

According to Nissan, sales and customer support for the GT-R Nismo GT3 will be implemented by Nismo for Japan, Asia, North America, South America and Oceania, while JRM will cover Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

Just in case you're interested, the selling price of this car is ¥32 million (P17.6 million), minus taxes and import duties.
