Alonso gets brand-new Ferrari FF for Malaysian Grand Prix victory
Just how awesome is it to win in a Formula 1 race? For Fernando Alonso, it's as awesome as getting a brand-new FF, Ferrari's first four-wheel drive four-seater grand tourer.
The Rosso Scuderia-liveried FF was waiting for Alonso at the airport. Ever mindful of his job as a Ferrari Formula 1 driver, he drove it to Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello where he first had a long meeting with its chairman Luca di Montezemolo. He also met the team's technicians and mechanics who didn't go to Malaysia. He capped the day with the presentation of the Ferrari flag, which is run up at the entrance to the Scuderia department after every victory followed by some exercises at the team's gym.
The last time Ferrari won a Formula 1 race was in July 2011 when Alonso claimed the chequered flag at the British Grand Prix. If this is what happens with every first-place finish, we can only imagine what Alonso might get from Ferrari if he becomes the 2012 World Drivers' Champion.
