CAMPI to stage 4th Philippine International Motor Show in August

It's official. The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) has announced that the much-awaited 4th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) will be held from August 16 to 19 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

According to CAMPI president Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, the motor show's staging couldn’t have come at a better time as optimism among the 13 members and affiliates of the organization is reportedly riding on the strong performance in May of the automotive industry, which reportedly registered a 30.7-percent year-on-year growth in sales.

"This is a clear sign that the industry is on the road to recovery and in achieving its targets on the industry road map," said Gutierrez who also serves as vice president at Toyota Motor Philippines.

With the theme 'Drive the Fun', the 4th PIMS is showing its support for the Department of Tourism's 'It's More Fun in the Philippines' campaign by treating the show's attendees to an array of concept and prototype vehicles and the latest advancements in automotive technology as presented by CAMPI's 13 members. Activities that will be held at the show include automotive photography and scale model exhibits, technical/garage workshops, outdoor activities such as car club meets and vehicle test drives, special auto-financing promos, and nightly entertainment shows.

This year's PIMS also supports CAMPI's staunch advocacy in re-crafting the new Motor Vehicle Development Program and underscoring the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of the local auto manufacturing sector to entice auto manufacturers to provide additional investments in the country.

"With the introduction of new car models, improved supply conditions, sustained consumer confidence, and the country's thriving economy, we at CAMPI are confident that the local auto industry will attain our 2022 vision for the Philippines to be a competitive manufacturing base of motor vehicles and parts, serving both the domestic and export markets," Gutierrez added.

You won't see either. Chevrolet is part of AVID and will not participate in this CAMPI event. While Ford is neither a CAMPI or an AVID member and they too WILL NOT participate in PIMS.

So does it mean hindi kasali dito ang AVID members? So wala silang displays?

Sana naman eh may sumali din na AVID members dito since they're also playing for local industry, we need to boost the sales rather than to heat up the competition between the 2 groups.
