Owing to their family-oriented and practical underpinnings, MPVs aren’t typically cars you’d associate with a sporty demeanor. Some manufacturers have shown it can be done, though, like Honda with the Mobilio RS, and now, Suzuki with the Ertiga’s new Sport variant.
Like its rival from Honda, the Suzuki Ertiga Sport doesn’t really see any performance enhancements. It still runs on a four-cylinder 1.5-liter gasoline engine capable of 103hp and 138Nm of torque. This still comes mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
The changes to the exterior are relatively subtle, too. But the adjustments Suzuki has made definitely lend the seven-seater a more energetic vibe.
Up front, you’ll notice that the grille comes in a darker, more intricate mesh-like design compared to the GLX variant’s classy look. The fascia is more aggressive in appearance, there are sportier-looking seven-spoke alloy wheels, and the new daytime running lights have been added around the foglights. There’s a spoiler, a skid plate, and ‘Sport’ variant badging out back, as well as new side skirts, too.
Inside, not
Unfortunately, the Suzuki Eritga Sport isn’t available here in the Philippines. These photos are from the Indonesian market. But hey, if you really dig it why not let Suzuki Philippines know you’re interested? You never know, right?
