Last year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas was definitely one worth remembering. Every carmaker brought its aftermarket game up a notch for the event, including Ford, who had one of the most impressive displays at the event.
The American car company is including everything from Mustangs to F-150s and everything in between this year--each with a unique look and covered wheel to roof in aftermarket accessories, of course. Here's what Ford has been busy with leading up to SEMA 2016.
The top representative for the 2017 Mustang this year is the company's GT Concept, which is described as an "enthusiast's dream." Packed with a VMP Performance Gen II-R 2.3-liter TVS supercharger and custom calibration technologies, the concept delivers up to 851hp and 953Nm of torque. The look is military-inspired, and it runs on 19 x 9.5-inch front and 19 x 11-inch rear matte black wheels.
Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 4x4 SuperCrew will be repped by Bojix Design. The pickup's 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine was fitted with a full race intake system and twin Borg Warner EFR turbo upgrades. It flaunts a Nardo Grey paint finish with Bojix Orange accents. Off-road adventures were kept at the forefront of its design, with 22-inch dark tint wheels and Addictive Desert Designs front and rear bumpers.
Ford decided to go with street racers for the Focus RS, led by a track-themed concept equipped with Ford and Roush Performance modifications, allowing it to produce up to 500hp via its 2.3-liter I-4 EcoBoost. It runs on sporty Roush TrakPak lightweight 19-inch wheels, and has been fitted with Roush splitters, custom graphics, hood heat extractors, and ambient grille lighting.
These are just a few of the models Ford is putting up for SEMA 2016. Last year, the company went home with the Hottest Car, Hottest Sports Compact and Hottest Truck trophies. Will the American carmaker repeat its success at the 2016 show?
