Honda Cars Philippines has announced that the refreshed Accord is now available in the Philippines.  The Japanese carmaker's executive sedan now sports a sportier and more premium look, as well as additional interior and convenience features to go along with the aesthetic enhancement.

The first change you'll notice exterior-wise is the sleek new front grille and alloy wheels--the 3.5 SV Navi variant comes with 18-inch wheels, while the 2.4 S Navi is equipped with 17-inch ones. The car's rear end also receives redesigned bumper and taillamp designs. Overall, this is a slightly bolder-looking sedan compared to its predecessor.

The improved looks are all well and good, but it's in the features where the refresh really becomes apparent. Both variants now come standard with cruise control and remote engine start, which allows the vehicle's intelligent dual-zone climate control system to be switched on before the passengers enter the car. An auxiliary switch that allows rear passengers to adjust the front seats--once available only in the 3.5-liter variant--is now also available in the 2.4-liter version.

Meanwhile, the infotainment system recieves an upgrade while retaining its dual screen setup. The multi-information display--which shows pertinent info like audio controls and a compass--now features an improved display resolution, while the bottom screen now boasts the company's new seven-inch touchscreen display. The two work together to operate wireless functions like Bluetooth connectivity and hands-free telephone calls.

Last but not least is the LaneWatch technology. This is designed to increase the driver's visibility around blind spots via a real-time display on the Accord's aforementioned multi-information display screen. All you have to do is activate the right turn signal or press the LaneWatch button.

Five color options are available for the refresh: White Orchid Pearl (additional P20,000), Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Carnelian Red Pearl. Below are the official prices of the updated Accord:

* 2.4 S Navi - P1,788,000

* 3.5 S Navi - P2,288,000

So, is the new Honda Accord worth a visit? With better looks and a fair amount of added convenience features, we certainly think so. The sedan is now available for order at all Honda dealerships across the Philippines.
