Toyota has updated the Alphard MPV van--as well as its more aggressive-looking twin, the Vellfire--giving both vehicles more distinct front fascias to go with the improved riding dynamics and comfort.
Both models feature new front grilles, with the Alphard getting a larger one with thick mesh ornamentation and which is integrated with the lower grille, and the Vellfire receiving wide plated bars that combine with the dual headlights.
Both MPVs also have been equipped with a newly developed double-wishbone suspension to enhance their ride and handling stability. Extensive sound and vibration dampening, and an aerodynamic wind-noise reducing body shape also give the vehicles a quieter ride at all speeds, "befitting of a luxury vehicle."
The new Alphard and Vellfire also feature a world-first Panoramic View Monitor with a new see-through view, "which gives a driver-perspective view of the vehicle's surroundings as if the vehicle itself were transparent."
Both the Alphard and the Vellfire are also equipped with Intelligent Parking Assist 2, which uses ultrasonic sensors and a camera to detect parking spaces. Working in tandem with Intelligent Clearance Sonar, the system uses automatic braking to avoid collisions. Parking has been made significantly easier through a new multipoint turn support function that automatically operates the steering wheel, and a parallel-parking departure function that supports steering wheel operation when leaving a tight parallel-parking space.
We have a very strong feeling that Toyota Motor Philippines will introduce the new and improved Alphard soon. How soon? We're not saying (wink, wink).
