Yamaha Motor Philippines has launched the YZF-R15, which belongs to the brand's R-series category of motorcycles. Unveiled during the first leg of the Yamaha Grand Prix at SM City Santa Rosa, the YZF-R15 was taken for a spin around the racetrack by the Philippines' ASEAN Cup riders Vingie Coloma and Masato Fernando. The riders claimed that the new Yamaha bike is suitable both for the track and for the road, and raved about its handling.
The YZF-R15 has a 150cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, SOHC fuel-injected engine mated to a return-type six-speed transmission. The engine produces 17hp and 15Nm. The YZF-R15 is also equipped with hydraulic, single-disc front and rear brakes.
The new motorbike has dual headlights and LED taillights. In addition, it has an aluminum swing arm and a digital speedometer. Available in three colors (Blue GP edition, Supernova Red and Midnight Black), the YZF-R15 is priced at P149,000.
