Director confirms fourth film in Transformers franchise

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Transformers movie director confirms fourth film in the franchise

The Transformers movie franchise isn't over apparently as director Michael Bay confirmed he has signed "a two-picture deal" with production company Paramount Pictures, with one of the two movies being "a new take on the Transformers franchise."

Bay revealed this on his personal website, MichaelBay.com. Although pre-production for the fourth Transformers film has yet to begin, Paramount Pictures has already set the movie's release date for June 27, 2014.

We're likely to see Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the other Transformers robots on the big screen in two years' time, but no mention has been made about the human actors who will be involved in the movie. Perhaps that's where the "new take" phrase comes in.

Could it be a reboot of the Transformers franchise?  Or maybe a prequel of sorts?  We'll just have to wait until June 27, 2014, then.
