As the official vehicle provider for Jollibee's Drive-Thru Cross-Country Challenge, Ford Philippines held a Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) seminar for the game's 20 participants.
The challenge will see the 10 teams of two members each driving around the Philippines to make their way to as many of the designated Jollibee Drive-Thru stores as possible for 10 days in a 1.6-liter Ford Fiesta Sport Plus hatchback. Since the 10-day run of the program will see the participants accumulate over 40,000km in their respective Fiestas, Ford Philippines had all 20 participants go through its DSFL program.
"Road safety is very close to our business," said Anika Salceda-Wycoco, Ford Group Philippines' assistant vice president for communications. "We are not only committed to providing our customers with vehicles that feature the latest safety equipment and smart technologies like the Fiesta, but with our DSFL training, we also hope to enhance their knowledge and help make them drive better, safer and with more awareness of other vehicles on the road."
For Jollibee, the DSFL seminar was specifically tailored for its Drive-Thru Challenge by tackling road safety awareness, important safety tips and fuel-efficient driving techniques. Using the Fiesta Sport Plus, the DSFL's hands-on training included steering exercises, tight maneuvering courses and braking exercises, allowing the participants to properly acquaint themselves with the vehicles prior to the actual challenge.
"The Jollibee Drive-Thru Challenge teams will face multiple road conditions and obstacles on their journey across the Philippines," said JP Tuason, DSFL instructor and president of Tuason Racing School. "With our DSFL seminar, we hope to equip them with the right road safety information and skills to keep them safe on the road."
