October 2012 will go down in Ford Philippines' record--and sales--books as a truly special month after the American carmaker's overall retail sales grew by 50 percent year-over-year to 1,248 units. That's the most number of units the company has ever sold in a month, and is also in fact the first time that it exceeded the 1,000-unit mark.
Delivering the results for Ford Philippines were the Everest, which posted its best monthly sales of the year with 311 units; the Fiesta, which, despite being over a year old now, still moved 307 units out of the showroom to boost its sales by 26 percent from a year ago; the Ranger, with its sales of 282 units up by 213 percent over the previous generation's performance last year; and the Escape, which sold 142 units for a 67-percent increase over last year.
According to Ford Philippines, helping its growth in recent months has been the availability of four newly launched vehicles: the all-new Ranger, the all-new Explorer with EcoBoost, the all-new Focus sedan and hatchback, and the Mustang.
The company added that, in just its second retail month, the Mustang registered 45 unit sales, while the all-new Focus saw its sales go up by 22 percent month-over-month to 62 units.
"Customer response to our newly launched One Ford vehicles has been exceptional," said Ford Philippines president Randy Krieger. "Our record performance in October is further evidence that Ford continues to deliver vehicles that our customers want and value, and are affordable."
