TopGear.com.ph Philippines Car News - Foton View

Options for Filipino motorists looking for vehicles which may be driven for private and commercial use just expanded with Foton Motor Philippines' recent launch of new vehicles in the local market.

Those looking for an affordable van as a fleet or service vehicle should check out the Foton View (in photo), a 15-seater vehicle. The Foton View is powered by the same high-torque 2.8-CRDi engine that's packed in the 10-seater MP-X. It is also Euro III-compliant, making it one of the most environment-friendly vans in the market today.

If you're in the market for a light-duty truck but find the cost of Japan-made units too expensive, Foton's new Tornado 2.5 truck should suit your needs. Available in either drop side, cab and chassis or aluminum van configuration, the six-wheeler Tornado 2.5 is powered by a 3.5-liter (confusing, we know) turbo-intercooler diesel engine that lets it carry a heavy payload of up to 2500kg.

"The Blizzard and MP-X are already doing well for us so we're expecting that the launch of the View and the Tornado 2.5 will help us bolster our sales even further," said Jam Santiano, Foton Motor Philippine's national dealer development manager.

  • BOOGIECAT Apr 27 2010 @ 01:24pm

yes some components such as engines, features and even designs were licensed from Japanese automakers but mind you not all Chinese brands were licensed-they are the copycats(nexxus...etc..)

  • BOOGIECAT Apr 28 2010 @ 11:02pm

    Hahahah funny comment ymprez!
And yun mga binili na mahal na ambulances ng government hindi naman imaintain so sandali lang sira sira na. Hehe
The Foton View's interior is nice because it has a fixed isle in the middle and captain seats all over. Passengers need not fold a jump seat when coming in and out of thevan.

In fairness, we havent heard any news about Foton's CRDI stalling unlike the D4D of... :)

Sa tingin ko ok naman foton view 2.8 crdi torbo 15 seater, the body built by china kahawig ng toyota binago lang ang mukha at hinabaan bagay gawin UV express service ok ang leg room nya long wheel base sya, mura pa para kalang bumili ng 2nd hand na van, brand new pa, ang engine nya isuzu, timing gear sya, ang gumawa daw ng pump ng crdi ay Bosch daw, at sa akin tingin ay ang front suspension at rear differential nya, parang sa toyota, 5 stud lang sya, medyo no imfo ako sa under chassis nya either toyota o isuzu, ok ang propeller nya may center bearing, ang haba ng van ia more than 5 meter, air con nya medyo ok kc L & R may air duc parang centralize ang air con. ok sana Toyota Van kaya lang compact 15 seater kaya masikip ang leg room nya pag ikaw ay 5'8" pag upo mo prblma na leg room,

Foton View is a good and reliable van. It is also fuel efficient with its 2.8 CRDi Diesel Engine. Basta, maganda! It also has Antilock Brakes. Dont be fooled about its Build Quality, matibay yun. As what I have read, Chinese Companies supplies parts to Japan Assemblers for Toyota Hiace and assemble it there. Just what Chinese Companies did for Foton. Kaya magkakamukha sila. They thought that it was cloning. :D
