Honda City sales hit 10,000-unit milestone

Honda Cars Philippines hit a new milestone as it has sold 10,000 units of the third-generation Honda City 14 months since it was launched.
The Honda City also posted its highest monthly sales of 811 units in February, 18 percent higher than the model's January sales, said Honda Cars Philippines president Hiroshi Shimizu.
"The Honda City's overall value for money package has gained worldwide market acceptance," Shimizu said. "We are truly honored and grateful for receiving warm support from the market. This enabled us from realizing one feat after another."
To show appreciation, Honda Cars Philippines honored its 10,000th City owner, Maria Fe Ramos, who received an exclusive lifestyle package and premium items from Honda. Ramos, a first-time Honda owner, bought her brand-new City from Honda Cars Kalookan.
"Upon reading good reviews from the Internet about the City's amazing fuel consumption and after seeing how the bold beige color makes the City look more elegant, I immediately made up a decision," Ramos said. "I knew right away that the City is the ideal car for my needs."
The third-generation Honda City is powered by an i-VTEC engine with a maximum output of 99hp and torque of 128Nm for the 1.3 variant, and 118hp and 145Nm for the 1.5 variant.
Honda Cars Philippines has sold almost 54,000 units of the Honda City since the model marked its local debut in 1996.
"We thank all City owners for making all these achievements possible," Shimizu said. "Their non-stop support drives us to continue improving our products and services that will suit their changing needs."
