Jim Alvarez

Jose Roa Alvarez, more popularly known by his nickname Jim, passed away Thursday midnight when the BMW 5-Series GT he was driving reportedly crashed into the center island of Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City (near Katips). Initial accounts indicated he was driving alone. He was 45.

Jim was the son of Columbian Autocar Corporation (Kia), Asian Carmakers Corporation (BMW) and Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (Peugeot) owner--and now Palawan governor--Jose "Pepito" Alvarez. He had served as president of Prestige Cars Makati, a BMW dealership, for several years before moving on to run two Kia dealerships of his own.

Top Gear Philippines extends its heartfelt sympathies to the Alvarez family as well as to the Alvarez group of companies.
