The Ertiga, Celerio, and Dzire are Suzuki’s best-selling cars in the Philippines for the first quarter of 2019.
According to Suzuki Philippines (SPH), its consistent sales growth is good enough for sixth place among Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) members. The company’s performance was spearheaded by the Ertiga, which accounted for 33% of Q1 sales, followed by the Celerio with 12.3%, and the Dzire with 11.6%.
“We started 2019 consistent and stable, and so far, we have maintained our momentum. Our performance at the start of the year is setting the pace for the rest of 2019,” SPH director Keiichi Suzuki said in a statement.
“We are confident of achieving substantial sales growth and reaching more customers through aggressive marketing efforts and nationwide promotional campaigns,” the executive added.
SPH says the introduction of the Ertiga’s Black Edition—which is basically the same MPV, but with a darker interior—has helped boost the model’s sales figures. The Dzire subcompact sedan likewise continues to make a name for itself as one of the most budget-friendly options in its segment.
