Top Gear Philippines' July 2014 issue

These days, there's seemingly a lot of things to be sad or irritated about. The LTO doesn't know what to do with our license plates (or how to make money off us); brief rains bring floods; and some people think Imelda Marcos is cool.

But there are always silver linings if you look around. Actually, just look around your local convenience store or bookshop, and you will find something to smile about. Like our July 2014 issue with the all-new Honda Jazz on the cover, for instance. (And there are actually silver linings on the cover page.)

Unofficially called the "Hell Yeah!" issue--based on associate editor Paulo Subido's favorite battle cry--this month's issue has a lineup that will cheer you up. There's the much-anticipated third-generation Jazz, now roomier and replete with touchscreen toys. We also have the Morgan 3 Wheeler for those who like classic metal. Then there's Vernon trying out the coveted BMW M3/M4 twins in Europe. And last but not least, we join the Toyota Road Trek as the Japanese carmaker stages its legendary annual road trip.

The July issue will almost make you forget the LTO's cluelessness with glimpses of the new Land Rover Discovery, the forthcoming Hyundai Sonata, the overdue Nissan X-Trail, and a radical Peugeot idea. And if our cute and petite Traffic Stopper doesn't make you smile...well, we can't imagine that not happening, so we don't know.

And what issue would be complete without test drives? We have a hell-yeah car this month in the badass Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, as well as memorable turns behind the wheels of the Nissan Altima, the Isuzu D-Max and the Ford EcoSport. Plus, we finally see which is the better subcompact car: the Honda City or the Toyota Vios.

All of this motoring goodness still sells for only P150 a copy. You can also purchase and download our digital version from the Summit Newsstand.
