Is Universal Motors launching the Nissan Juke this year?

A reliable source within the auto industry has given TopGear.com.ph a tip that Universal Motors Corporation, the Philippine distributor of Nissan commercial vehicles (Navara, Urvan, Patrol Super Safari, Patrol Royale and Murano), is already making preparations for the launch of the Nissan Juke. According to our source, UMC could even display a unit of the car at the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show in August.

When asked for confirmation, UMC’s assistant vice president for marketing and sales, Honeymae Limjap, refused to comment--neither confirming nor denying whether the Juke will indeed be sold in our market soon.

The Juke is Nissan’s unconventionally styled crossover SUV that was launched in selected markets worldwide in 2010. This vehicle might just be what UMC needs to inject some youthful vigor into its product lineup.

    What I like about this car is that it's not made to please everyone. With its unique sense of design and quirky details, it surely stands out from the rest and makes a bold statement- it's great to be different.

    Hope this rumor is true!
    What we need more of now are cars with character, much like those that were sold back in the 60s to 80s. :)

    This is what I like about Nissan, they're willing to gamble on their design just like this. Some people find the Juke as a joke but I kinda like it.

    Now, Nissan, who Started the Juke, will bring it to the Phil. Let's see what's the Juke about. They make sure this is good :)

    having seen one in the metal, it's not a photogenic car. It looks a lot better in person. Still fantastically weird, but one could say it's unique. here's to hoping the pricing is right!

    I love the Juke's love it or hate it styling. It is UNIQUE and yes being unique can sometimes be a deviance, but, in the way the Juke is UNIQUE is not in a universally hated way. Most people like the Juke's looks, and I'm one of them =)))

    i tried riding shotgun on 1 a few months ago....its a nice car. cute pero may dating. sana hindi mahal dyan pag binenta kasi gusto ko din nito hehehe!

    knowing Nissan.. It will take years to make them release this car here.. knowing that.. i bet they will also price this w/ a hefty price tag of 2.5m or less or should i say more? :D

    It should have been love-it-or-LOVE-IT styling. Styling may seem weird but it also makes it stand-out more, making it very unique. :D

    if they bring in the AWD and 1.6 turbo this would be a hit.. if they stick with the 1.5 114hp FWD... lame... just like the SX4 crossover.. sayang ang potential...

    nissan.. please please bring in the trubo.

    Kawawa naman ang NMPI, their units are not as saleable as the the UMC units and again the Juke is threatening the sub- compact crossover segment also under UMC. I'm just curious about the Serena & the X-trail, they are commercial vehicles but who distributes them, NMPI or UMC? Anyway, Juke is a toy for the rich boys & girls and good also for the old but not so old parents. Those who will see this car on the road will be amused because it looks funny & smiling. This just reminds me of the first crossover(the RAV4 3 door) which was also a headturner in its prime time.

    I don't like the styling. It looks like a mish-mash of a frog and a bug but this could be a good rival to the Kia Soul.

    Seen this Nissan Juke in piece. Nasa harapan ko along pasong tamo area.. same color pula... takaw pansin siya for me kasi bago sa paningin and honestly ahh maganda itsura niya...
