Isuzu Philippines dominates truck market with N-Series and Forward

Isuzu Philippines dominated the local truck market for the 11th consecutive year with its light- and medium-duty trucks capturing more than half of the sales in their respective segments 2009.

Isuzu Philippines sold 996 units of the N-Series light-duty trucks and 232 units of the Forward medium-duty trucks.

"The sustained strong sales of Isuzu trucks show that customers continue to trust our hardworking vehicles," said Isuzu Philippines president Keiji Takeda. "Factors commonly cited by clients are our trucks' durability, reliability, fuel-efficiency and low-cost maintenance requirements. Clearly, Isuzu trucks are the ideal business partners."

Meanwhile, Isuzu Philippines senior vice president Arthur Balmadrid also attributed Isuzu's success in the light- and medium-truck categories on the company's after-sales support, particularly to fleet customers. Isuzu conducts seminars and workshops to train customers how to properly use and maintain Isuzu trucks.

"We believe that our role doesn't end with the sale of a truck. On the contrary, our role starts with the sale. Customers appreciate that a lot," Balmadrid said.

Isuzu Philippines ranked fifth among 18 distributors in 2009, and third in the commercial vehicle category, which includes truck sales.
