Mercedes-Benz reveals new SL 65 AMG roadster

How would you like to drive around with a car that delivers torque of up to 1,000Nm? That's exactly what Mercedes-Benz promises with the new SL 65 AMG right out of Stuttgart in Germany.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG is packed with a 6.0-liter V12 twin turbocharged engine with the power of 630 horses.

"The combination of exclusive V12 dynamic performance and a refined roadster driving experience was already the defining attribute of the predecessor model," said Ola Kallenius, Mercedes-AMG GmbH chief executive. "We are convinced that, with the new SL 65 AMG, we have developed an incomparably exciting high-performance vehicle for the small but loyal community of fans."

With its more powerful engine, the new SL 65 AMG can run from zero to 100kph in four seconds and reach 200kph in 11.8 seconds.

The SL 65 AMG is the first to be equipped with a combination of a 6.0-liter V12 and the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic. The system comes with four driving modes: controlled efficiency (C), sport (S), sport plus (S+) and manual (M).

For all its promise of power and luxury, the new Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG also pledges driver and passenger safety with its crash-optimized aluminum structure and restraint systems.

Here are some of the equipment and features one can choose for their new Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG:

- Active Parking Assist including Parktronic
- Attention assist
- Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG high-end surround sound system
- COMAND Online with six-disc DVD changer
- Anti-theft alarm system
- Frontbass
- Remote-unlocking boot lid including power closing for boot lid
- Intelligent Light System
- Keyless-Go Convenience package (including remote-closing boot lid and hands-free access system)
- Convenience telephony
- Magic vision control
- Neck-PRO head restraints
- Panoramic vario-roof
- PRE-SAFE system
- Door power closing
- Automatic, pop-up roll-over bars for driver and front passenger
- Even more individuality is possible with optional extras from the AMG Performance Studio:
* AMG forged light-alloy wheels
* AMG forged light-alloy wheels, painted matte black, rim flange with a high-sheen finish
* AMG ceramic high-performance compound brake system
* AMG exterior carbon package (cross strut in front apron, exterior mirror housings and spoiler lip in genuine carbon fiber)
* AMG performance media with telemetry function
* AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfiber
* Brake calipers, painted red

    The AMG model is more powerful and more sophisticated both in the exterior and interior. And this is really a sports car to be recon with.

    Wala yan sa Hyundai Genesis Coupe!!! Talo yan. Isama nyo pa ang kanyang big brother na SLS AMG at yung italianong Ferrari 458 at mclaren Mp4-12c Lalamunin yang mga iyan sa world's best na Hyundai Genesis. Hahahaha - para na ba akong si Hyundaibest?
    Seriously, Merc, are you gonna come up with a Black Series? Coz if this one's bonkers enough to have to have a thousand torques, I could just imagine how many the black series, if ever they could be bothered to put it into production, would possess. 1,200Nm maybe? Here I go... dream, dream, dream.

      Bro, please don't sound like HyundaiBest, we all know here in TGP na sya ang hari. :> hari ng kayabangan pagdating sa Hyundai na halos lahat ng article dito sa TGP kino-mentan para lang mang-bwisit. :))

      Anyways, enough of that troll HyundaiBest. If ever Merc will make a Black series of the SL65, 1,200Nm would be mind-boggling. :)

      I do like the Hyundai Genesis Coupe too, but I don't think it's nowhere near the SL 65 AMG Roadster.

      I agree with jim82592, please don't joke around here like that. Everyone here in TGP has enough headache dealing with HyundaiBest.

      Oh and by the way, you would have sounded a lot more like HyundaiBest if you said Santa Fe instead of Genesis Coupe.

          Hehe, may mali din ako since yung Sta. Fe is a CUV/SUV, eh ang SL65 AMG eh grand tourer, ang layo ng difference, pero dahil kay HyundaiBest na compare na lang bigla. :))

          And I really doubt na may Sta. Fe sya, or kung meron man, baka sa tatay nya. =))

    6.0-liter V12 twin turbocharged engine. this is the kind of engine that should be in the SLS AMG. you got that long hood and all you have inside is a V8? MB put this engine in the SLS AMG!!!
