MIAS 2012: The all-new M5 is officially here

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - MIAS 2012: The all-new M5 is officially here

One booth you shouldn't miss at the 2012 Manila International Auto Show is BMW's.  Asian Carmakers, the authorized distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, has put on display nearly all of its M high-performance vehicle lineup. And serving as the booth's main feature? The all-new M5 sedan.

While you can buy one right now, you'll have to wait for a couple of months to get your hands on the actual unit since it is available only on a per-order basis. That unit on display at the MIAS now? Asian Carmakers marketing manager Karl Magsuci said it "is already spoken for."

If you can wait two months for the 4.4-liter V8 engine-equipped muscle car that puts out 560hp and 680Nm, and a zero-to-100kph time of 4.4 seconds and is designed like a sporty European luxury car with features like Merino leather interior, anthracite headliner, and door sill finishers with M designation, prepare to shell out P10.990 million for it.

Not a bad price for a car that has a fuel consumption of 10.101 km/L in mixed city and highway use, and comes with a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty, right?

    It's more expensive than the R8 V8.

But for supercar performance with 2 extra seats at the back that people can actually dwell in, it's worth it!

        • adgarcia Apr 02 2012 @ 10:36am
Yeah. The Montero Sport is 10 km/l and sulit sya. Ok ang length and 7-seater. Kung ayaw mo ng malaki, sa Monty ka na.

I'll still miss the feral bark of the old V10, though.
